Bloodborne is first party as well though...

Bloodborne isn't a first party to my knowledge, but my point was more to this point: "The posts here make it clear that no exclusive should go multiplat. Like ever."

It's as first party as you can get without actually owning the studio. The game was funded/worked with a Sony studio and they own the IP. From is pretty much 2nd party to Sony anyways since they make exclusives with them all the time.

Wasn't Bloodborne co-developed by Sony Japan Studio though? More than just funding in that case...

Yes it was. The thing is any kind of exclusive is very important to console manufactures. They should never become multiplat because 1. It hurts the consoles and 2. without exclusives console wars wouldnt exist. Without exclusive certain consoles would be completely redundant. I just brought this up because the "Bloodborne to a wider audience" thread got a comletely different reaction. Some posters entertained the idea of everyone should experience game X even though we all know it'll never work that way.

I wasn't saying making Bloodborne multiplat was realistic or anything, but that the very idea is much different than with Xenoblade Chronicles X.  I believe I've already saw it mentioned that it's more akin to Bayonetta 2.  You already know how the reaction to that went.

Is it though? I thought they just funded/published the game and not own the IP/had a Nintendo studio help make it.

Not all exclusives are like that, though.  The point still stands that someone is asking for an actual 1st party to go onto another platform.  Again, I am not saying Bloodborne should be multiplat, but that it's different in this case.  It's clear why the reactions are different. (Bayonetta 2 had many people asking for multiplat)

Ofc there's no way that it'll be released on other platforms since Monolith is owned by Nintendo, but I do agree that a game of this importance deserves to sell way more than what it will do on the Wii U. It's the wrong platform, like it was for Bayonetta 2, but on the other hand if it wasn't for Nintendo we wouldn't even have these games, so let's just hope that Nintendo will be satisfied with the 1mln copies sold so they will finance another great rpg.

I don't know much about Bloodborne, but when I look it up it shows that it is developed by a 3rd party and is published by Sony.  If Sony owns the IP, then I didn't know that.

edit: It would make it much more akin to The Wonderful 101 then.

Yeah it's more like W101 and not Bayonetta. They do own the IP and Sony Japan studio helped make it just like Demon Souls with From before. That's why I don't get the port begging for it like From has any authority over the game going anywhere. Might as well ask From to get Halo on PS.

Port begging in general is annoying, but it's worse when you ask for ports of games that are actually owned by the company that makes the system it's on.

Port begging in general is so odd and annoying to me. I just have never felt that entitled  to ask for them especially for exclusive games not made by a 3rd party. I guess it depends on how people were raised.

Other platforms will have many memorable RPGs coming their way as well, so OP just be patient and you'll get even better jRPGS and open world rpgs to fit your tastes.

I think that part will be hard to achieve... I hope that better & better games come out, not like the cr*p we have been fed the last few years, but happily Xeno Cross is shaping to be something on lengendary level!

FFXV will easily top XCX, just wait and see.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...
