These games are welcome, I think they are helping to sell Vita hardware in the west (look at the last NPD numbers where Vita is much better selling than the last year)!

It's the numerous shop deals and price cuts, mainly for ps vita tv...:P

That actually looks interesting.

I see Sony Europe's strategy for Vita is basically to licence stuff on the cheap (this; Muppets) and then throw it at a small European developer to make.

I don't know if that's better or worse than the 0 support it's getting from Sony America.

Incoming rant that you I know you didn't ask for.

My annoyance with sonys and the Vita isn't sony's "lack" of support, although could do more. Its sonys stupid support. With the exact same funds they've thrown at it they could've had the system in a much better place by working with third parties on relevant titles an intelligent decision when greenlighting games.

-Uncharted was a good investment but it should have been Jak 4. Less of a big name but the general Uncharted audience do not care about a handheld experience, the idea of its being handheld doesn't even fit with the franchise. As impressive as Golden abyss was it was always going to be watered down Uncharted, a nice tech demo. Jak 4 could have easily been the best in the series, people have asked for it for a while and it'd really appeal to those actually interested in a Vita/3DS.

-They could've got FFtype 0 if they vied for it back in 2011, the games japanese release lined up with the Vita's launch, I really do think if sony gave square incentive to port it to Vita as a launch window title WW they would have done so. The system wasn't out yet  so it had no bad press and Sqaure didn't decide to make type 0 for PS4/X1 til 2013

-Unit 13/Resistence Burning skies/COD: Declassified shouldn't have existed.

Unit 13
Who was Unit 13 supposed to sell to? The team that made it should of instead worked on a licensed ME3 spin off/component app built of ME3's assets. A short campaign, an online component, and an extremely detailed interactive wiki.

Resitence Burning Skies
What was the point of shitting out a terrible entry in the resistence franchise, a franchise that was dying anyway?  If they weren't going to have the team work on a worthwhile project they could of at least had them port a big third party project: A competent and timely port of Borderlands 2 back in 2012 would have been huge and more worthwhile then the year+ the team spent making Burning Skies. In said time (1 year+) I also don't think we'd have to worry with it turning out as bad as what we saw in 2014. Moreover though I  still want an Elderscrolls Morrowind remaster.

COD Declassified
This was made by the same team and they said they only had 6months after Burning Skies to work on it. Apparently a Black Ops port was in the works but was cancelled at Activision. Unless Activision forbid a port which doesn't make sense considering they allowed COD:Declassified and published it, sony should of had nilhilstic continued the work as oppose to trying to make a new COD game in 6months. Its pretty obvious sony comissioned Declassified because nihilstic worked exclusivesly with them for the prior 2 years. Black Ops 2 for Vita >> Declassified. If they could get the original black ops running on wii, they could definitely do it for Vita.

Why were Jak Trilogy and Rachet and CLank trilogy (both 2012 titles for PS3) not prioritised for Vita over PS3. When you have a new system that could either be a cash cow or flop, you don't prioritise something like the PS3 which was already a huge success that peaked and was on decline with tons of third partu software releases that year and was about to be replaced the year after. Same argument goes for Ratchet Nexus, God of War accension and Puppeteer.

Other notable dumb invetsments:
Epic Mickey Port, Muppets, Invizamals, Borderlands 2 (2 years too late+rushed), PS Vita pets and now this...

Like could the money for this not have gone into securing Phantasy Star and Digimon with swift localisations and physical release dates -_-

I pretty much agree. I was saying in the Vita thread, why not sequel one of their legacy IP on a lower budget? They've got the game engines already (even Resistance: Burning Skies isn't actually "that" bad, it's just unfinished, the engine is pretty solid though. I think how it comes together so well for the last level before abruptly ending is just a mega tease at what could have been.

COD Declassified I understand was actually done in about 2 months? Basically Sony had a deal for a game that fell through if they didn't get it out in November. Activision gave up on porting Blops 2 in like September, so Sony turned to Nihilistic? Was it? to get something out as soon as possible.

I agree on the whole though, some very mis-managed resources. I'm sure although limited, they could have better use out of thier resources. I also think they over-supported the PS3, before shifting too much focus onto PS4 in the Vita's early years though which has created the current situation the system is in.

Fair play to the likes of Shahid though, he gets a lot of flak (though it's been very quiet lately...) really got us far more bang out of the Vita as a content manager (note his job was to get 3rd party content, green lighting 1st party stuff I think is a completely different role) and he's managed to get more software aboard for Vita than Nintendo have for their formats.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
