Forums - Nintendo - What should nintendo do with all the money they are making?

Since they bought Monolith soft and have good relations with Capcom I would love for them to snatch up Capcom..if not Capcom then Platimum Games (formerly Seeds) which has former big time Capcom talent like from the Resident Evil series and Okami and more.

Who bought Monolith? Don't be silly now...

No, Capcom is fine already, although it would be nice to see some of Capcom's gaming icons in Smash Brothers.

Yeah 1 of the things Nintendo should do with their money is to invest in more Sports games, maybe a Sports division of their own like EA Sports. The Wii brand could grow even bigger if they did that with titles such as:

Wii Tennis (Mario Tennis can coexist with a decent tennis sim)
Wii Bowling
Wii Punch Out!
Wii Ski (Whiskey hehe: it would include all winter sports)
Wii NBA Basketball (with Mii's that resemble the NBA stars)
Wii Golf
Wii Rally
Wii NFL Hockey
Wii soccer (comes with a knee pad pheripheral to capture kicking motions, supports the balance board)

quoted from a different thread

also

- invest in a team for big budget RPG's of their own

- buy some small talented and independent companies

i think reggie knows what to do with all the money

I don't think Reggie has anything to say about the big investments: all these decisions are made in Japan by Iwata and his team, and usually also need the approval of the most important shareholders... Reggie is just a "commercial" for NoA, it's a very big role, but not THAT important in the strategy of the company...

Nintendo should get:

-Silicon Knights to make Eternal Darkness 2 or another game for Wii.

-Try to convince Blizzard that Starcraft: Ghost should go to Wii, with online play.

-Buy Free Radical Design or try to co-operate with them.

-Encourage (=give money) to Disney and Square for Kingdom Hearts 3 on Wii.

-Invest a lot of money in the development of a new console!

-Eehrm, save a lot of it for worse times yet to come.

-Here, i'll give you guys my bank account!

It would be better if they give a little of free advertising to some 3rd party games...

you missed the joke....and to explain it......thats just a waste....so here ya go

There are three things -

1. Massive improvement in terms of online space
2. Wii HDD or up internal storage to minimum of 2GB (512MB of flash memory is ridiculous)
3. Smash Bros DS

not sure how sony is a giant of $ compared to nintendo when nintendo has a larger market share than sony now and is the 2nd largest japanese company (sony is like 5th)

Nintendo isn't larger than Sony, that's absurd.  Sony is a massive corporation with deep, deep pockets.  Nintendo's stock was more valuable (in Japan) for a time, but that's a different matter.  Nintendo focuses on video-game based entertainment and they have some TV shows and toys and crap.  Sony is involved in video games, technology, tech gadgets, entertainment technology, movies, music companies, television, DVD, Blu-Ray, and about a thousand other things.  Nintendo is one of the largest entertainment companies in the world, but certainly not larger than a huge corporation like Sony.  Nintendo is like the Disney of video games--if Nintendo was callous and evil.  The entertainment part is comparable, though.

Nintendo is both more valuable (anymore? I don't know actually but they certainly were) and more profitable than Sony. They have smaller revenue and less employees but thats not really what matters. Nintendo is a little bit similar to Google, both reasonably small, very focused on a single sector and amazingly profitable.
