If you gate hate mail for being good at the game, awesome, if you get it because youre being an asshat and/or cheating, you deserve it.

I had the same problem so I had to change it. But some people really sent some awful stuff.

Took a peak at them after the 3rd game and was quite amused. Keep in mind that these were all received within the space of 15 minutes and without me replying at all. I may have played the Sad Violin song through my headset however.

You must be good or just really lucky. I always get complaints about me sucking/cheating/hacking/camping. I go 4/13 and get messages accusing me of hacking...
Let's see one guy told me I sucked at marvel vs Capcom 2. Though being true it didn't really bother me. Another message I got that was more disappointment than hate was when I quit from demon's souls when I was invaded or possibly right after dieing. wasn't my best way to behave online but I'd felt justified at the time.
