Forums - Nintendo - Did Nintendo not ship enough Brawl units

@HappySqurriel,

It depends on the game really. And how many the company wants to send. This game saw a lot in comparison to, say, Guitar Hero III for Wii (I cannot speak on all four because I was only watching for the Wii version) which we only saw twenty-two of.

But in comparions to a game like Halo 3, where we saw almost eighty (across all three different versions) Super Smash Bros. Brawl was not setting any records.

It is easier for me to remember the count if the game is not multiplatform. But, with GTA IV, I will try to keep it in mind and then inform you on how many we got just to give you a little bit to compare.

Thanks!

I was trying get an idea on how many were shipped compared to other big games; being that Halo 3 sold (roughly) 3 Million games in its first week, and Guitar Hero 3 sold (roughly) 300,000 copies, I think a 1 Million estimate for day 1 shipment for Brawl is reasonable.

Around the Network

I went to GS they sold got 120+ and all of them went to covering preorders. I went to walmart. They had some in the glass, and I went to the desk to get one and he pulled a copy out from behind the desk. He said it was selling very well. He said they sold two full boxes of them (50+) The two people in line behind me bought brawl also. I am guessing they recieved 90-120 copies of brawl.

If you are reading this, Walmart seems to be the place to find it. My as well forget about GS.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

They shouldn't undership the product at all. It's not that hard to produce a dvd. My local EB games had 500 copies and 300 were on preorder.

Just kiss the tip.
