Forums - Microsoft - A small bit of Phantom Dust gif footage shows up and...

Looks like the same un-marketable game but as others said, unfair to judge on pre-alpha footage.

Well, the game certainly needs quite some more development time. Good luck to the studio who's picking this up.

After watching that gameplay video I'm glad Microsoft canceled it.  That looked so boring, just throwing projectales at your opponent over and over and block when they throw them at you.

Microsoft never canceled it. They are getting another random third party studio to work on it.

They canceled this version of the game.

It looks really underwhelming. I can see why the studio might have closed down. Microsoft needs to stop depending on outside developers who they have no clue as to their pedigree. They need to either give it to people who are known for these games or make an all star studio. This doesn't even look like a proper action JRPG and the physics is just mediocre.

That looks horrible, graphics wise.

Game needs a face lift, it looks dated.  The destructable objects are cool though.

... that's not how the game works, sure there are projectiles, but there are lots of other cards aswell

can't believe how judgemental people are about this game, it was great on the og Xbox

Ikr how dare someone judge a game by seeing a gameplay video.  I got the main point, you equip these cards that act as your spells that you take into battle.

and you can make really cool combos provided you get the right cards and are good enough to excecute them

there is plenty of tactical depth to it in planing aswell as in combat itself - it's not a "throw spells/attacks at your oponent as soon as cd is up" game, you have to manage your mana and your spell pick ups

in an uncommented video of 2 noobs playing the game you won't get even 1% of what it's about

You mean a alpha footage? And MS didn't cancel it.

I did look up gameplay of the original when this was announced, I never saw a single one of these "really cool combos" that consisted on combining a bunch of spells and pulling off anything impressive.  Care to show me some examples?
