QoL won't even be a gaming platform, Mobile will hardly be taking up much develpment resources since it will basically be small teams... Having an unified OS means less development time and more games output either ways so its not like having an unified OS won't have an advantage in terms of game development... You will have significantly more games coming out with an unified OS regardless but you can still give different experiences without butchering the sales of one platform

The issue with having the same games on both platforms is that it will butcher the sales of one of the platforms cause there is no reason to buy the other platform and it will most likely butcher the sales of their console one... The reason is that most people would rather prefer having a ps5/x2 + Nintendo handheld cause it would be a better companion device like that since with ur idea, it will be getting the same games anyway hence why its a bad idea from a business standpoint.

QoL is a mistery, but for sure looks like NIntendo will likely put some resources throught its lifespam, like updates. And even if we take off, there's still mobile, handheld, console and thier new nemesis: HD. Fusion will be HD and they will face new problems, while not as terrible as HD WII U problems, it will take time.

Anyway, we have to wait until next year.

QoL is a mistery but their first device is something that watches you sleep... I highly doubt game developers will have anything to do with QoL.

The thing with Fusion rumours such as this is that, people are essentially saying that both will have the same hardware with the same games but the issue with that is a) Nintendo cannot sell a handheld above $200 which greatly limits the specs of the handheld and console if the hardware is going to be the same and b) As I said, it will butcher one of the platforms, most likely the console one and I doubt Nintendo would want to go out of the console business anytime soon. Sure it will take time but having an unified OS will make it take less time cause they don't have to teach the developers two different OS's while not butchering the sales of their console. There is a lot of overlap with wiiU owners and 3ds owners and if Nintendo does what ur saying, they will lose a ton of sales and give up their future stake in the console market

But yea, we will have to see what actually happens

Wait, what was announced?

It all comes to a closed circle. All fits now. But what's next?

I think you need to elaborate a bit more? You mean because of the X in "NX"?

Don't expect Nintendo to just release mini-games of it's IPs. Expect Nintendo to really good mobile games of it's IPs. Games that fit the mobile space, but are hefty, worthwhile games.

With a Pokemon Shuffle or two thrown in there. Don't expect things like platforms, though. Expect genres that make sense on mobile platforms, like RPGs, card games, puzzle games, rhythm games, and tower defense games. But expect Nintendo to stretch the definition of what those types of games entail.

I don't get how anything that was announced today is related or makes the Fusion clearer than before. They just announced the codename of a next gen hardware (duuh).

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

We seem to share one prediction: Zelda TP for launch.

I don't see a reason for no more games to be announced or games being delayed, even if the console does come out next year. After all, Nintendo will have enough free staff focused on one ecosystem, after all.
NEW 3DS will have it's fair share of remakes and Wii U will have a good number of titles too. That doesn't mean that late 2016 Wii U titles can't be ported to Fusion.

Some eShop games might see new versions on mobile devices. Games like Mario and DK, Rusty Baseball, Dillon... something.
Even other games like Animal Crossing, Starfox, Zelda Hourglass type of Zelda, Nintendo Land, F-Zero and Wave Race seem to fit perfectly with mobile devices style of play.
There are a lot of options out there. Even Earthbound could see a port!

I sure wouldn't mind a press conference early next year (like the one Sony and MS had). But that would mean no demos, only games.
There's no point in having a press conference that early if you have no intention of releasing the console that same year.

I think we will see more new Wii U games on E3 this year, Iwata stated on the end of January they have more unannounced games.

Sorry. But no. Just because they say "new console in development", doesn't mean they're abandoning Wii U, nor that the new system will be out in 2016. I'm fairly confident it will NOT be. This new mobile nonsense thing, is clearly announced as something that can be accessed from smartphones, tablets, PC, AND Wii U, AND 3DS. They aren't planning on ditching either any time soon. Trust that.

IF there is a new "Fusion" console, that, as I've said in other threads, takes the Wii U/GamePad concept and evolves it to combine a real home system with a controller that can also be taken on the go as a fully portable system, it won't come out until 2017. Why? Because:

1. Nintendo still wants to get as much as they can out of Wii U and 3DS and

2. Because it takes TIME to develop a new system, and develop games for it.

So again, I'm fairly confident, that no new Nintendo system will launch until 2017. I'll be genuinely shocked if it comes out next year. But I very seriously doubt it will. So in that case, we can all look forward to at least one more year (2016) full of (hopefully great) Wii U releases.

P.S. IF they do follow suit by making two Zelda remakes for each system, I'm TOTALLY fine with the idea of them remaking TP. I'd buy that shit day one. That AND this epic new Zelda, would be awesome sauce.

Wait, what was announced?

They just said that they will have more details on a "new dedicated gaming platform" (Didn't specify console or handheld) in 2016 which has a codename of NX
