"Developer"? I think you mean "publisher."

ShhhHHhHHh.

In any case, I'm lumping some of Nintendo's 1st parties under one umbrella, but if people choose they can simply think of it as Nintendo EAD instead.

Uncharted is a third person shooter.

But since that's not what you want to read, here: You are right. What you say goes, and all that jazz.

Who ever said it wasn't a 3rd person shooter?

Goodfeel (makers of Woolly World) are not owned by Nintendo.

Nintendo certainly isn't a specialized developer. They make action-adventure games, platformers, shooters, RPGs, brawlers, Racing games, etc...

I know you love them, and wish to include them because, you know, there's never enough praise for them since they created the universe. But they're still no specialists.

In any case, from that list, I'd say From Software.

I don't think you understand what I'm asking. Thanks for the passive aggressive comment though.

I don't think you understand the meaning of the word specialized.

Nintendo is known for releasing quality titles ranging from multiple game styles. Not just platformers.  Hense, they're not specialized.

You say it's a platformer game. It's not.

I suspect that your explanation will make it so that any kind of games that requires jumping over obstacles are platformers.

...Wait, really? Damn. I guess just replace that with Yoshi's Island or Super Mario Galaxy or something.

While From Software has become more popular in recent years due to the Souls games, they've been around for a quite a long time developing a variety of games, especially series like Armored Core and King's Field (which while being a spiritual predecessor to Demon's Souls is still very different). With that said, From Software did create something special with Demon's Souls and its successors, so I can't blame them for continuing in that direction.

spe·cial·ize

ˈspeSHəˌlīz/
verb

  1. concentrate on and become expert in a particular subject or skill.
    ------------
Specialize =/= exclusive to. As I said above, if a chef is specialized in making lasgna, that doesn't mean he's restricted to just making lasagna. It just means he's arguably the best at making lasagna over anything else. Hence, Nintendo is specialized at platformers as they've made more of them than any other genre and they are the highest rated in that genre. By your logic, none of the other developers in my list are specialized at all considering all of them have made games outside of their respective genres. Your attitude is highly unnecessary.

Really. Mario Galaxy would make a bit of sense since at least then you would have two games made by the same team. I would go with 3D Land, 3D World, and Treasure Tracker -- their three most recent games.

Nintendo doesn't concentrate on platformers. They make, and have always made a variey of game types. And they've been mostly stellar in all of them.

Other devs, like From Software, Turn 10, Poliphony Digital, Atlus, among others, don't make multiple game types. They may have in the past, but they are not anymore. Hence, they're specialized.

Also... So sorry to be disagreeing with you,
