Level 5 strikes me as a puzzle sort of dev team, but I could be wrong. And Tecmo I consider a lot with horror games, largely Fatal Frame. That or Beautiful girls in games like Fatal Frame and DoA, haha.

What about Square? Wouldn`t they be the RPG guys? At least for the most part...

As for the Q, I`d give it a 3 way tie with Ninten, Atlus and Square. Ninten is best for their platformers. Atlus best for their awesome niche games, and Square best for their RPGs, at least back in the day. These days, they have me worried...

Yeah, I almost put in Square but I felt more inclined to put Atlus just because I associate them with more RPG games than Square these days. Although Squeenix does have the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games, so maybe. But it does seem like they're moving away from traditional RPG styled games, where as Atlus is still in that boat.

I guess it's all a matter of perception, lol. If people want to vote Square, that's cool with me. :)

From that list you provided I'd be inclined to say From Software.

yeah, with DeS From Software not only started a series but kind of its own genre, and since then they have been improving it more and more.

after that i would say Platinum Games since they have always been really good at character action games, and Naughty is kind of a hard one since they have done many different genres, Crash was a Platformer, Jack and Daxter was a very different platformer than crash, Uncharted is action adventure and TLOU is a survival horror game.

You got me there. If Sqaure was still as strong as they were back then, I would be inclined to say them over Atlus, but I think Atlus is doing better than Square nowadays.

From Software. I can't think of a game they have made that wasn't Souls or Souls related or Souls inspired.

Rockstar obviously.

I think Nintendo, From Software & Atlus are equally genius. Man, i love Mario Galaxy, Dark Souls & Shin Migami.

Ugh i don't know what to say, i missed id Software, Epic Games, Apogee/3D Realms & Maxis so much. :(

Can Nintendo really be all grouped under one? I mean shouldn't Microsoft and Sony be grouped under one as well then?
