also to those defending the OP, if its a thread regarding his own PERSONAL 'game of the decade' then maybe it would be better off if the title of the entire discussion was 'my Game of the Decade'
what's frustrating is stating all of these things about best game of the decade in the OP with a tiny little mentioning of 'its my opinion'. this is a discussion forum where people bounce opinions off one another, not just spew their own one dimensional awards or whatever
obviously it would make sense for the OP to nominate his own favorite games and then maybe either add the option of 'other game than those mentioned' or even add some poll options based on the responses to the thread. otherwise, if that's not done, then what is the point of a poll at all? makes just as much sense to just state his opinion rather than ask for input if it's not going to be a fair 'game of the decade' conversation. or maybe rephrase the question entirely to, favorite action / shooter game of the decade, or favorite Playstation game of the decade?
obviously there are tons of great options not included in the OP's poll, from Bioshock Infinite to Mario Galaxy, to Fallout and Portal 2 and Xenoblade. I don't mind someone expressing their opinion to some degree in a one dimensional manner, but when pretending to ask a universal question like 'best game of the decade' one needs to not be so unfair and close minded in terms of discussion and choices.
anyone is allowed to respond in a post as to what their thoughts are on best game, so why would there not be a poll option that gives some freedom or room for opinions differing with the OP
sad unoriginal list by the way, and it's not so much based on my own personal bias or anyone elses, just on the fact that obviously there have been terrific games in all genres on all platforms that should be in this discussion,. and someone's lack of variety in their gameplay or knowledge is a sad thing to block conversation
the OP starting this thread would be akin to me opening up a discussion on 'best new cake recipe this decade' on a baking website where I only posted the 4 recipes in the poll that I tried (out of who knows how many). absolutely useless for broad discussion
