Forums - Gaming - What if Halo 5, Zelda and Uncharted 4 all bomb?

I was just thinking to myself that all 3 of these are considered dead certs to sell gangbusters.  Does anyone ever wonder what if they're past their peak and people prefer other games now instead?

Just to clarify when I say bomb I mean relatively speaking.  So if uncharted 4 sold less than 5m, halo 5 less than 8m, and zelda less than 3 million.

I don't expect your definition of had bad sales to match mine so please don't argue my opinion.  Instead give me the numbers you'd consider bad for some of these and then if you think any of them could possibly bomb relatively speaking.

Ready, steady...BOMB!

Uncharted 4 will sell very well. By the time it's released in 2016 PS4 user base will be at least 35 million and PS4 owners buy big releases. Halo 5 and Zelda should do ok but I can see Halo 5 having disappointing sales considering the MCC debacle.

Zelda less than 3m?? Lol I would say sub 4m is bad enough... Skyward Sword Im looking at you.
But in all honsesty I can see both Halo and Zelda selling less than expected for their franchise. Zelda is on WiiU... thats really all I have to say on that one.
Halo is again by 343i, seemingly taking a new route in gameplay, MCC struggles could (would sure hope not though) carry on to Halo 5, XBO isnt setting the world on fire after its amazing launch.
Uncharted, well it has a delay against it, I guess. Maybe people dont like Neil and Bruce =P Seriously the only issue I see here is if they really fuck it up and it reviews poorly and even then... Anyway time to be called a fanboy

Wanna throw in some numbers?

All three will do great.

Nobody ever answers the question with these threads. You ask "what if..." and people reply, "No. It can't happen."

Well, IF they fail, it will show that the market has truly changed and the big three would have to reevaluate what it is that people really want.

Haha we're on the same wavelength!  do you think any of the 3 could under perform by your standards?

Won't happen but if they did, I lose all faith in gaming. Then I laugh at everyone that made bets on them.

The Wii U is going to be a zelda machine for a lot of people that are going to buy that console for zelda, plus current users. That game will sell 4m+ people should remember that Nintendo has a great attach rate with their main franchises and this is the most hyped zelda game since Twilight Princess.

Halo is like the super mario of MS, that game will sell 6m+

PS fans are in love with ND and the user base is great, that game will sell 7m+

nothing to worry about.

I almost expect Zelda to underperform despite probably being the best, ever.  The shocking sales of Halo MCC has me worried, too.  Zelda based on the WiiU sales and some gamers no  longer wanting to have to think while playing a game.  And, while Halo has a huge following, many have been gravitating towards realistic modern shooters.  Plus Bunjie isn't running the show, anymore.  It should still do fine, though.  I think it will do worse than H4 based on franchise fatigue, alone.  It HAS to be flawless when it releases!

U4 will do just fine.
