No guarantee? With sales like 3-4mil on 3DS im pretty sure they'll be on the next HH. DQ does well on ps consoles so it could have the main games but im sure thy'll be 2-4 titles on the next HH. It be a completely stupid decision to not put it on Next Nintendo HH, unless they want to lose a bunch of money.

Yeah, nooo..... 3DS is the only system actually doing remarkably well there. 3DS will have a minimum of 21mil sales in japan Let me refresh your memory...

HW Sales

3DS is currently the 5th highest selling Gaming system of all time in japan. Its going to place at least 4th which will be close to PS2 (23mil+ figure) GB/DS only 2 that broke records (30mil+ each)

SW Sales

3DS Million Sellers= 17 Titles (and Counting)

PS2 Million Sellers= 20 Titles

PS3 Million Sellers= 2 Titles

PSP Million Sellers= 4 Titles

PS4 Million Sellers= *2 (FFXV+DQXI are guaranteed) maybe 2-3 more

 

You cant argue 3DS sales at all in japan. Nothing will come close, you can add Everything else together and it wont beat 3ds this gen


All I need to do is add smartphones and you see why nintendo in Japan is now David.  They are the real goliath.  The ps4 in Japan will cause a little trouble but the goliath as I said is smartphones.  Their grip has tightened so much since the 3ds released.  I guarantee the successor will not come near the 3ds.

I hope this trend keeps going though.

I rather see a real consol on top, than a handheld.

3DS is in the Smartphone/Tablet era, it already is effected by it. Yet its going to be the "4TH" Best selling HW in Japan, Next HH doesn't need to come close to 21mil+ if its still by far #1 in japan.

I dont get what your not understanding from here. Whats even more weird is your talking high and mighty for ps4 when we dont even kno if its going to be half of 3DS Lifetime.

Also have you not seen SW Sales? 3DS with not as much games are killing it in the SW department.

Congrats 3DS for winning February. Thread seems unnecessary and something to boast the PS4 because you couldnt yesterday when 3DS won. Thats how i look at it. PS4 is obviously a beast but it isnt going to win everything. Sometimes a congrats to somebody else is just as good. As far as im concerned, the numbers are not the entire story of this generation, just as they werent last generation. Take that how you will

You're straying from the point. 3ds is a WW console.  Doing exceptional in japan failed to stop a massive ww decline. That's super telling.  

If the 4DS sells 15 million that is still excellent but it will be a grim picture WW. 

 

Smartphones in 2012 still had a long way to go. They are a true goliath now and now dominate japan.  Only a matter of time before software starts swapping over.  

 

I'm baffled as to how you are now only focusing on 1 region. Zoom out and look at the big picture.  

 

This thread was set up to compare good 2015 sales of one console to excellent sales of another.  I don't want to talk about future doom but you guys are giving me no choice.

I'm sorry Mr.  Wood but I have giving my congratulations on a number of occasions.  In the official NPD thread and in the official nintendo thread. There is nothing else to say except that you are wrong.  

 

As regards your opening line.  This thread is about 2015 sales for the 2 best selling consoles in the US this year not just one month.

Yeah, i agree with everything you said. Its not like Nintendo fans are all riled up and now think 3DS will evencome close to ps4 this year. And if anything ps4 truly did well. (feb US)

This thread was even made coincidently during the same time Npd rolled out. Thats what i was basically saying before.

Again it only seems like this thread was made because of 3ds winning 1 month of sales which probably won happen again for the rest of the gen. I mean 3DS only beat ps4 twice the entire Gen. No big deal :)
