So you consider 3DS Goliath and PS4 David? Why? Isn't PS4 the one that is breaking records? How is now a simple mortal?

handled market share is bigger then console, and Goliath is also a mortal.

Handheld market is not bigger

SNES+Genesis outsold Gameboy+Game Gear during the 4th gen

PS1+N64 outsold Gameboy during the 5th gen

PS2+XB+GC sold more than GBA during the 6th gen

Wii+PS3+360 sold more than DS+PSP in the 7th gen

Stop making up facts

and yet we talk about current market situation not in the past.

Nope.

DS+PSP = 150M + 80M = 230M

Wii + 360 + PS3 = 100M + 80M + 80M = 260M

 

So far:

3DS + Vita = 50M + 10M (since 2011)

Wii U + XOne + PS4 = 9M + 11M + 20 = 40M (since 2012, almost 2 years later from handheld release)

 

And other comments have already showed it. Don't try to dismiss the 3DS. Nintendo won this month. Accept it and move.

The PS4 is in its second year. The 3DS is in its fifth. The 3DS is out in America for less than 4 years.  The ps4 is out for less than 2. The 3DS had MM which was huge plus monster hunter.  It also had a new model that sold really well.  This is quite the achievement from the ps4. Remember its still at launch price.  

If by less than 4 years you mean 2 weeks less then you're seriously nitpicking lmao.

PS4 is 8 months away from being 2 years on the market.

And I'm showing u the current market is the same for 25 years, consoles sell more than handhelds in America

Excuse me but my thread was made about 2015 sales not just February. One month comparisons are not relevant.  I'll update this thread every month.

I think the DS was phenomenal and the peak of the HH only market.  I think the other handhelds released by them sold very well including the 3ds. I think the next HH will continue the decline and with no vita successor the market will decline even more.  

 

Nintendo can and will make money from their next handheld but it's a cul de sac.  There's no light at the end of the tunnel.  They will eventually have to try and squeeze into the smartphone market or go 3rd party.
