Forums - General - What kind of gamer do you consider yourself casual/hardcore?

75% hardcore, but i dont get as overly competative as most hardcores ;)

I would say Hardcore, I've been playing videogames consistently for about 16 years or so now.

While I do only have Nintendo consoles (mostly because my younger brother is into majority of that stuff unlike the PS3/Xbox 360), I don't have a problem playing any consoles.

The certain amount of hours I use to play games depends on if I have just collected a new game or not. I would usually say about 2 or so hours average everyday or so.

I'm one of those gamers that are in-between...know about games, play a couple of games, talks about games (hence why I'm here) and so on, but I don't play it all the time or complete all the games that I buy since I don't spend that much time playing games....and I'm starting to slowly head into being a casual or even a non-gamer as I slowly grow older...I hear its called metamorphosis from pre-adult to the adult stage...it's sad, I know...

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

Ummm how about in between? I like to call myself simply a gamer (or in other terms core gamer). I like to buy some games... But not that much. I like to beat many games though. I do enjoy sometimes more casual titles to relax.

I also play Sims a lot, due that the game has no real end (unless you decide it is... I'm looking at you, doorless room >XD). So it's a 4-5 years of gaming assured, until another Sims comes out.

But I really like RPGs and most of them take a long while to complete... I remember spending some nights awake recently playing Terranigma.

Also I don't have a huge game collection due that I've rented lots of games and usually beat them in the rent's time. *Shrugs* No point in buying them afterwards, unless it's a really long game with much side quests and possible endings, like Star Ocean 3.

casual, 100%.

i hardly play hardcore games.

mainstream/core. The way I see it is if your on ANY gaming forum your at least a deep end mainstream.

somewhere in between.
i'd say i'm a hardcore gamer since I play video games since 9 years ago for 5 hours a day on mondays to thursdays (yes, I play my DS at school), 9 hours on fridays, 16 hours saturdays and 10 hours on sundays... making me play video games 55 hours a week.

but I hardly play any hardcore games.
in fact, I hate games that are too hardcore like Halo 3 or Gears of War
but I do play games that are hardcore, but not too hardcore like brawl...
so yeah, somewhere in between... casual and hardcore...

I would not classify myself as either, I would say I am interested in games a lot more than I play them.

I like the term "refined." A middle ground between hardcore and casual.

I consider myself casual. I can play games non stop for a couple weeks, and then not play any for a month.
