I wonder what MS will do if that MCC bundle under performs...like if it settles in the low thirties rather than the top 20? I think another price cut would be ill advised long term, but MS has exhibited a propensity short term thinking before so...

I was actually posturing over that same idea. Should the MCC under preform, I guess MicroSoft will have to consider 'extreme' measures, which isn't good since if the results of the March NPD not be favorable to them, only a little over 2 months left until E3.

One thing that has caught my attention though; May 21st. I would expect something to happen on said day. Sadly, I am not sure what, but if these types of bundles still don't work, something could happen on that day.

Any way, for me the MCC bundle don't will help the sales by much...... is a game released by 5 month, and have not sold as many people have predict (1-1.5 million first week just in USA was the prediction of many user!!!! )

agree. I also believe a large % of Halo fans have upgraded as they are microsoft's core. Unity made sense because it was a GEN 8 exclusive and it is a game the appeals to a wide range of people.

Price is a funny thing. There is a perception amongst a huge demographic that price equals quality. Too much cheaper than the PS4 may actually become detrimental to the sales.

That plus that would be 3 perceived price cuts in a year (unbundling the Kinect wasn't one technically, but in practicality it was).  Dropping price that fast erodes consumer confidence as they become unsure whether they should buy now or wait for yet another price cut.  Plus, if they commit to another price cut, they will be forced to maintain that price difference between the Xbone and PS4.  They already have to maintain a $50 price difference now, a $100 one could be very detrimental to profits.  Especially since people expect bundles now.

This in turn also makes the bundle perplexing in comparison towards what Amazon gave Sony. Microsoft should have added another game or two for further interest. Instead, only the MCC was given. Even though the game is still a bit glitchy, four games is nothing to scoff at, but adding a fifth would help sweeten the deal.

yes they are in a bit of a hole. RIght now they cant outsell sony in the US with a 100 dollar value gap.

Yeah.  But I honestly believe they're better off riding it out, especially if they want to stay in the console business long term.  Coming in second would be worth maintaining price stability and perceived brand value.  Ask Nintendo what happens when you spend years conditioning consumers to always expect your hardware to be cheap :P (I know that's only a part of it, but I honestly believe it is a very real part of Nintendo's early woes with the Wii U).

This will speak volumes when the hollidays come around and sony will do an actual holiday bundle. MS might not win this holliday. Last holliday I say was good bundle when there was still low adoption of the consoles.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Man, Kirby is really riding out his stay in the Top 100. Hasn't dropped out since launch. MP10 doing better than I expected, both versions in the top 15. Finally BF: Hardline reaches the first page with the PS4 version. Not very encouraging that it took this long, considering it launches on Tuesday.

Personally I think they should add a digital game to the MCC bundle, I'm just not sure what.

Maybe another halo game to make a real halo pack, such as Halo wars (just a port from 360 to one).

Kill 2 birds with the one stone because that will get a decent RTS onto the console at the same time.

are we sure the MCC Bundle sales will be a separate entry on the chart. The Unity bundle is down to 23 and no sign of a MCC bundle in the top 100...
