Originality: Ah the start of it all. What a beautiful, unique, and unforgettable experience these games are, and to play the one that started it all. As currently watch the show “Gotham,” I appreciate this game even more now. How I LOVE how much it focuses on the sub plotlines (something City does ever better, but since City wasn’t out when Asylum was…) in a way that I don’t recall experiencing in other games prior to this. Where as most games are either built based on a nice tree and bad branches, or a bad tree with good branches, this game has both a wonderful base (main storyline) as well as beautiful branches (subplots/references/minor character development). What a unique experience!

Graphics: Even now, on my decked out pc, this game looks beautiful. For it’s time, superb!

Art Style: I love the dark/greenish look of it all! So creepy at points yet so impressionistically fitting for this setting.

Story: The story of City was perfection in a video game in my opinion. I felt so emotional going through it, seeing the end, and seeing the impact of the end of the game in the DLC afterwords. Arkham Origins, for all it’s flaws, really focused on the increasing obsession and (almost) bro love between Joker and Batman. This game, despite coming out earlier than those two and therefore not being fair to be compared to them, does not really have any emotion involved in it. I was surprised, and expecting at least a little bit of feeling bad for Joker. Oh well, still a good story, but not great and certainly not excellent.

Game Interface: Annoying or not? I still miss the gamepad, but not complaints!

Controls easy and fluid or difficult and rigid? Couldn’t figure out how to do ground takedowns (and after doing research apparently a lot had isues with it, including my pro pc elite masterrace overlord brother in law who himself couldn’t figure it out on a mouse) but he got me a 360 controller so all is well J.

Is it fun? Yes. And it doesn’t have the repetitive feel of Origins. Yey!
