It's scary that it seems like most elections lately aren't won by "Should i vote A or B." and are instead won by "Should I vote A or stay home."
I really think voting should be put on a weekend, done for at least 2 days... and give a tax break to people who vote. Or tax people who don't or something.

@Kas
Yeah, and some people even vote for Hilary because she has Clinton in her name

Yeah... eh. At this point i'm more interested in the possible Serbia election. The US election is spore all over again... too much build up to where i'm starting to not care anymore and will have to wait and see more towards the election.
It's tough when you actually agree with all three candidates in some areas... yet also disagree with all three in major ways. When it was Bush V Kerry it was easy, Bush I was sure was going to screw up the country, Kerry I was just about 70% sure he would screw up the country.
With Hillary, Obama and Mccain it's about 55-45, 50-50 and 50-50.
Really, I wonder which way the Serbians will choose... to move foward with the EU, or to try and take back Kosovo in what would seem like futile attempts.
There seem to be a lot of elections lately.

This is why I'm pissed that no foreign press seems to even mention McCain. I have watched BBC countless times and read a few Australian newspapers and they all seem to say "The race between Obama and Hillary is a close one, both of them are close to the amount of delegates they need for the white house".
Heck a CNN guy once said "With Edwards out of the race this will be a groundbreaking election. We will either have a black man or a woman as President for the first time!"
Gah, that pisses me off. Heck I'm probably going to vote democrat but for crying out loud, people need to give McCain some respect. Everyone I talk to just arrogantly assumes the Democrats are going to win. I might end up voting for McCain just to show the international press how biased their reporting is.

As much as many people will probably not agree with me the way people voted in the last election made a lot of sense ...
George Bush has been an awful president but (at the time) the ecconomy was pretty strong and you knew what kind of an awful president George Bush would be. The Republicans were successful as painting John Kerry as a 'Flip-Flopper' and Dan Rather's (remarkably stupid) false negative story on George Bush's military history really made a large portion of the population distrust both the media and John Kerry. The end result was the independant voters who decided the outcome voted for the 'Devil they knew' because they simply couldn't trust John Kerry ...
It scares me that America is actually voting for Hillary Clinton.

To me it didn't seem like the independents decided anything. It was more of a the republicans got pissed back and motivated their base to vote move due to those events.
We'd be better off with 4 partys and run off elections.
There are groups in the Republicans and Democrats that just don't make sense where they are.
I mean how can you have both enviriomentalists and unionists in the same party?
There should be partys for the fiscal conservative and social liberal... and the fiscal conservative and the social conservative. Since the Neo-cons seem to have taken control over the republican party.
There isn't a party of fiscal conservatism anymore really.

Surely she's better than George Dubya?.

The reason there are two parties is really because America is based on two principals. What is the constitution all about? Freedom and Equality.. However, as wise as the founding fathers were, you cannot have both of these values at once. Pick one.
If you want to give freedom, then give freedom. Leave people alone, don't have a government that tells them what they can and cannot do. Don't tax half their income, and don't punish those who have worked hard and accumulated wealth. This is the bedrock for Republicans.
If you want Equality for all, then support equality. Don't let rich kids have better educations, and don't let some people starve while others dine on silver. Tax the rich to support the poor, have equal rights for everyone across the board. This is the bedrock for Democrats.
At the same time you could also say who do you trust more. Big Government or Big Business? Democrats trust the government with everything from feeding the poor to health care to education. Republicans trust that capitalism and business competition will create the best systems possible.
