Forums - Gaming - Metal Gear Rising "2" logo confirmed for 2nd anniversary, not a sequel.

The whole story from VG24/7 can be read below.

Metal Gear Rising developer Platinum Games has confirmed, once and for all, that the “2″ logo we saw during Sony’s presentation at Taipei Game Show was definitely not for a sequel.

Platinum posted this on Twitter earlier.

The illustrations were made by artist Yong-Hee Cho to celebrate the second anniversary of the game, and not to announce a sequel. How this ended up in Sony’s showereel at the Taipei Game Show is anyone’s guess.

We had already lost hope in this being an actual sequel when Kojima Productions said it wasn’t, but now all hope is dead. Well, at least we have two cool new illustrations.

Naww...
I loved Rising!

That's what they want us to believe.... *X-files theme starts*

Why do you create a teaser for the "second anniversary" of a game? That was stupid and just made people believe there was a sequel ready that simply isn't there.

I think they are codding us. Big reveal still expected this year from me.

Ahh fair enough.

Its weird to celebrate the second anniversary. I think platinum is trying to pitch a sequal in a subtle way.

...or maybe they're planning on releasing a Remastered edition? >.>

I'm not one for video game conspiracy theories, but that came across as a lazy way for Platinum to make us think otherwise.

I'd think it;s a bit too soon to announce a sequel, maybe at least 2 more years from now.

That and by then keep it multiplatform, you don't want to split and piss off the fanbase like what happened with the rumours that went around when that number 2 was shown at a Sony conference.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
