101m is going to be passed by the PS4, imo without any need of "luck".

The Wii has a measly advantage over the Ps3 of 14m consoles and is the Nintendo Best selling console of all time, while the Ps3 is the Worst selling console of all time for Sony.

The Ps4 will surpass EASILY the Wii.

When all is said and done with the 8th gen, the Top 3 Best Selling Home Consoles of All Time will consist of 3 Playstations.

In which order? I really dont know.

Next year the ps4 will sell 19-21 million units and be at 54,9-56,9 m sold.
By then the writting will be on the wall for all to see.

I disagree, I see it more in the 100-110m range though I would love to see ps4 passing 110m.

I agree. They should come up with some sort of new way to play games. Maybe they can start working on some sort of VR headset I feel like that technology could be done a lot better now. If only we could get some huge companies like Facebook, Steam, and Sony to invest in these sort of things. 

This is going to be a short generation and I do not see 140M happening.

I honestly DO NOT think we will see console refreshes this time around, and instead will see 100% backwards compatible versions with stronger hardware. Developers will then code their software to run at X or Y depending on what model the owner has.

Microsoft is going to short circuit the generation one way or another depending on what happens this year. PS4 seriously has the XB1 beat to shit in terms of games this year, and i think this will be the PS4 peak year -- which will eat into XB1 sales. I also think we will see FW 3.5/4.0 launch by march and it will contain PS1 (and maybe PS2) FULL bc, 4K video support, and possibly the ability to remote play your PS3 on your PS4.

100-110M seems like a safe prediction.

This will be a SHORTER generation BECAUSE.. 4k.. in two years 4k TVs will be the majority of SETS owned.. People are going to ask why they DONT have 4k gaming.. The PS3/X360 came out at the BEGINNING of 720p/1080p .. so they were able to ride out out.. the PS4/X1 came out at the beginning of 4k,, but WITHOUT support for it.. This will be the reason we will see a 5-6 year generation at BEST..
