Let me set the scene...

It's December 2013 and I finally bite the bullet and buy myself a shiney new Nintendo 3DS XL. I love it. It makes me happy. It makes me oblivious to the outside world while I ride the subway to work. Last week I broke out of my 3DS zombie state to pull a crazy drunk woman off of another rider when she was being attacked. I felt like a real life Mario [I may not be a plumber but I DO live in Brooklyn]. That's neither here nor there. While younger me loves his 3DS he feels as if something important is missing in his life...

Flash forward to February 13th, 2015 and I'm sitting in my office with my 3DS, a charger, an ad for trade-in value at Gamestop and a sneaking suspicion that I may be acting stupidely impulsively. And I'm asking you VGchartz user... IS IT WORTH IT??? Will my face implode with the improved 3D visuals? Will I spill hot coffee on myself while reacting to the blazing fast loading speed of Smash Bros?? Will the c-stick nub whirl my world around me???

Excuse me while I homerow freakout  : fjdkal;sfjads;lfjadksl;fjksadlfjla;fjakfjksadfj;aljfkdalsfjkadfja;klfja;dlfasdfja;jd

WHAT SHOULD I NINTEN-DO????? TO NEW 3DS OR TO NOT NEW 3DS???

I'd say go for it, I have a 3DS XL myself and I want to upgrade soon.

oh man gatito

YOU ARE PUSHING ME TO THE BRINKS. Lunch break is fastly approaching and I'm sweating all over myself despite the frigid temperatures outside. Won't anyone talk better sense into me!

Buy it.

Personally, I'm just waiting for the next handheld all together. I bought my 3DS XL almost two years ago and I have the circle pad pro. So the New 3DS XL means I get a right analog stick downgrade, have to buy a 32GB microSD card because I currently have the bigger 32GB standard SD card, have to go though the pain of a system transfer, etc.

The only real benefits I get are the faster load times, better 3D, and a few exclusive games like Xenoblade 3D, all of which will be available on the successor. Unfortunately, those aren't compelling enough reasons for me to drop another $200 on a stepping stone that'll only be relevant for a year.

BUT IF I TRADE IN MY OLD SYSTEM I GET $100 AT GAMESTOP SO IF IT'S NOT WORTH $200 IS IT WORTH HALF?!?!?!!!?!!

This moral dilemna is weighing heavily on my soul!

Dooo ittt

But remember that if you do trade it in, you have to do a system transfer before doing so in which case, you should ask the gamestop person if u can

I'm not totally sure since I'm upgrading due to the fact that I still have the original model but if you really see the need for the new features like the c-stick and better 3D (or Xenoblade) then I'd say go for it.

Keep in mind that in order to trade in your 3DS XL, you'll need to bring your 3DS charger as well.
