Congrats man! I recently created a new XBL account so I had to start all over. Currently at about 5k myself. Can't wait until I reach the same milestone xD

Yeah, and that's what achievements are for. Good achievements make you do things that you normally wouldn't do, like a lot of Halo achievements. Not the "finish chapter whatever" achievements.
