After rewatching this, only one thing ran through my head: Tatsu is SO fucking charming. I thought I'd hate him, seriously, because I hated Riki. But Jesus Christ, is he so likable. So is Lyn. So is Elma.

The new info is cool and all, but more than anything else, this translation finally gave me something every other XCX footage so far lacked; PERSONALITY! Now, I can completely see how this is a sequel to Xenoblade, story wise. The best thing about XB isn't the quality of the story, but the likability of the cast. Even Riki, who was annoying, was likable at a base level. The game was bursting with optimistic characters exuding likability, and this translation proved, more than anything else, that that would be continuing with this game.

Geeze, this game is going to be incredible.

How could you possibly hate Riki?

I love the banter between Lyn and Tatsu. Teasing him about cooking him and his speech patterns. Glad Elma seems to have some personality as well, she seemed pretty stoic in the limited stuff we'd seen so far.

I found him grating. I usually hate mascot characters like that. I find them extremely annoying. Honestly, one of the only characters like that I've ever loved was Taupy from Sands of Destruction. Largely because he sounded like a 40 year old man.
