it looks a bit better, you can mod it, and it plays like ff8 plays, not much changed(but you dont have to farm spells if you dont want to, there is a build in cheat device for that). only shitty thing is the DRM from SE...

you have to register a SE acc and before you start the game you have to login. nothin big, but it sucks if you know that you just needed a psx and the cds back in the days...

okay im not 100% sure, but i think you can play the game in offline modus.  it started with steam in offline modus and without net.

The backgrounds don't translate as well with a 1080p monitor, but the higher resolution does give the character models less jaggies so that's a plus at least.

You have to make a user account with Square Enix. There is also a cheat included with it where you can give yourself 100 of certain spells. I don't recall what spells those were exactly, but they do help make you more powerful early on if you know how to junction them.

As an added plus there are also achievements too.

The PC release doesn't use the same music like you hear in the PS1 version. However, there is a mod that can replace that music with the original soundtrack which I'd highly recommend doing.
