Say what. On a standard playthrough, MGS4 is give or take 20 hours. The cutscenes alone are like 8 hours long.

It's also worth noting that for the most part MGS4 gameplay is pretty "standard" and the game doesn't guide you along a linear path with button presses along the way. There's a decent amount of exploration, and not much is scripted.


People can beat MGS4 in 4.5 hours. Therefore the gameplay is around 4.5 hours long with A LOT of extra shit I don't need to do. Good games don't need to be long.

Well don't be suprised by the number of people bashing a $60 interractive movie.  Guy who beat it in 5 and a half hours said the cut scenes are easily three hours alone, 1.5 hours of actualy gameplay, 2.5 hours if you actually want to explore everything and over an hour of QTEs.  How in the absolute world is that worth $60?

We have now 2 full gameplays on youtube (well one was banned), one is 5.5 hours, the other is like 6.2 hours. The first review says it is near 7 hour long, and now the devs says that well... it can be beaten on 6 hours. (I remember they were telling it was impossible to beat it on 5 hours... so I guess they didn´t lie... right?)

So the Op is clearly wrong.

No, unless you have a source for that. GAF has actually timed all QTEs (11 minutes total) the rest must be pure cutsene and estimates were just over or under 40%. The rest 60 to 57% is all gameplay. 1.5 hours of gameplay is simply NOT true. I can't believe its come down to this, using percentages and graphs.



I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime. 

The NX will be a 900p machine

8-10 hour campaigns are the standard for modern games, right ? I don't understand why this is being discussed over and over again.

Most games have other modes to compensate for shorter campaigns. Like those wave survival modes or simply MP.

But like others have pointed out, the first Uncharted game was pretty much exactly the same and most didn't really have problems with it.
