It would be about damn time. They should both be $100 by now.

I think if the Wii U were to cut its price it would sell more units and not less.

A couple of things have changed since then though. For one Sony isn't in such a good financial position as it was back then. Secondly this generation will probably follow in the steps of the PS3 in terms of price which will mean profit over sales. |
if MS can price cut for the future then why wouldn't Sony? Their gaming division is making a good profit and they've cut the cost of the internal a couple times since launch plus time will have them making a nice margin by now. Not to mention they want the largest install base because it snowballs into more sales and more software and more PS+. They could have held back on the PS2 price cut too but then they might not have taken 70% of the market and made all those sweet software shares.

Probably. I was at a Best Buy the other day and saw a current PS3 bundle for $249. I thought that can't be right.
e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)
The ps3 still cold hold up with higher price like it is now, maybe now people realize how dumb it is paying to play online as both charge now

A shame it still cost more than that to make a PS3 then.

Yeah it probably does. They need to make an all-digital ultra slim without a Blueray drive if they want it at $100. They could bundle a month of PS+ and sell a ton probably.
