People need to accept the fact that Xbox is now ruling US again.

Do you really want a repeat of last year? Don't go countting your eggs just yet, there may be adjustments incoming.

or they may be making up for undertracking based on that MS report.  They may do this for a few weeks till the numbers catch up to MS's official numbers

Alot of retailers were still selling for less than $400 that week to clear out leftover Holiday inventory though. The 2nd week of January should be quite a bit lower than the 1st week of January, then the 3rd week should be up again because Xbox One went back down to $350.

On amazon the xbox actually dropped to its lowest point yet after the latest drop. Lower than it was @400.

I wonder how many dumb consumers actually believed MS when they called it a temporary price drop. Lol. They raised it back for a week or 2 to prevent being sued for false advertising.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

All the numbers will probably get adjusted by NPD.

Not sure this needs its own thread. Obviously we have no actual discrediting objective dales data, so VGC might have been reading the tea leaves right. But circumstantial evidence suggests otherwise.

Personally I think 15K for the USA for that week is more likely to be correct. The way things appear is that retailers told MS there was a precipitous drop off in sales that week and there would be major problems with trying to move stock if MS doesn't make a move on price. So just a few days later MS officially announces a permanent re-price cut to $349. You don't make such a major U-turn on price if you sell 62K units first week of January, and have less than a 50% WoW drop.

But there's nothing for it but to wait to see if NPD corroborates or contradicts VGC data. The good thing about VGC publishing sales information so late is that we don't have all that long to wait to see what NPD has to say.

And UK seems pretty unlikely too. PS4 wins Dec by a bigger margin than Xb one won Nov. Yet we're back with Xb one on top for the week immediately following the holiday period?

Globally in the US

It only beat the Ps4 by 13,000 units. While in Europe the Ps4 double the Xbox One and lets not begin with Japan. Anyways Xbox main market has always been the US so this shouldn't really come as a surprise.
