Axew evolves into Haxorus at level 48. That's a major disadvantage. You should  think about giving axew (and other Pokemon with sharp handicap) some advantage to compensate it.

I was thinking about this for a while now and I think I'll let the immunity stand. However for fire types you can still poison them and for eletric types I'll add in Stun spore which will be able to paralyze them for the same cost as a thunder wave.

So far we have stun spore added as a new item. I was thinking about those who hit special milestones such as number of post in the thread. The person who gets 100, 200, etc will get a nugget which can be sold for say $400?

Any other suggestions or is the game fine as is cause if it is I'll start it tomorrow.

Added in two items, A Link cable for Machoke ---> Machamp and Pokepuffs which give 5 points and also cause Eevee ----> Sylveon. after feeding Eevee 5 of them.
