Forums - General - What do you think of David Beckham

1- overrated

2- crappy player

3- an idiot

4- very good player

5-  only cares about his money/ads/wife/movies.

I think hes gotten enough shit. People will say hes overrated this he cares to much about his money that, but he is truly a very good winger with good stamina that has the ability to cross the ball very well, and he plays with a passion for the game of soccer. If you actually watch Beckham play and not just beleive what you hear about him, you will see what im talking about.

Look at when he played for Manchester United. He was a key part in them winning 4 PL titles, 1 FA Cup and a Treble. Yes he had that bad moment vs Argentina, but he came back and sent England to the Wrold Cup 2002 with that stunning free kick vs Greece. He left United to play for Madrid and he got benched. At the end of the 2007 season, Fabio Capello finally got his head out of his ass and played him. Guess what? They won like 6 times in a row with Beckham playing. Then there was World Cup 2006. He actually cried when he coulnt play vs Portugal. That shows how much passion he has for playing for his country.

He went to the LA Galaxy after he thought his career was over (because he got dropped from England and Real Madrid wasnt playing him at the time). But then Mcalren finally got his head out of his ass as well and played Beckham for England. In a match vs Brazil, one of the best teams in the world, he set up an assist for John Terry, and England went on to draw 1-1. He played a few more matches and he played brilliantly.

Im just saying, reconsider your thoughts on David Beckham. He really is a good player for both club and for England. Yes he has all those commercials and he is married to Posh spice, but would you really turn down making commericlas and ads for 10 million $$ a piece?

Phew finally done.

I try to ignore him. (which is quite easy considering I don't like watching football)

ALL OF THE ABOVE

Wayne Gretzky belongs on that list.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Gretzky

"Nicknamed The Great One, Gretzky was called "the greatest player of all time" in Total Hockey: The Official Encyclopedia of the NHL. He is generally regarded as the best player in history and has been called "the greatest hockey player ever" by many sportswriters, players, and coaches. He set forty regular-season records, fifteen playoff records, six All-Star records, won four Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers, and won nine MVP awards and ten scoring titles. He is the only NHL player to total over 200 points in a season — a feat that he accomplished four times. In addition, he tallied over 100 points a season for 15 NHL seasons, 13 of them consecutively. He is the only player to have his number (99) officially retired by the National Hockey League for all teams."
