Lmao.  You really expect everyone to go check them out. The onus is on the advertiser not the consumer.  If they want to say they won 60 awards for trailers shown then fair enough.

You have to treat adverts and trailers just like politicians, take everything you hear or see with a grain a salt.

Oh I agree fully. I don't buy games based on their adverts. Your average consumer wont have the gaming knowledge in do. They're the people they're trying to fool.  If the reviews are good boast about them. But it's wrong claiming 60 awards for trailers you showed at an event when you won't even let your game get reviewed.

I agree that it is wrong of them to lie or mislead casuals just to get some sales but that doesn't really bother me so much because I'm not a part of the "being tricked" group. If a game hasn't been released yet then it has won any actual awards for the game. Honestly, I like the concept of the game and I hope that it's good. I'm all for the new IP's.

Yeah I wasn't mad as I said in my opening post it made me laugh.  Kapi disagreed so I just pointed out the reason why I think it's daft.

lol, it's now a lie to include E3 awards on the boxes of games? No offense but that is silly.

If someone sees "winner of 60 E3 awards" or whatever you said and they don't understand what that means, then that's on them. I for one would rather not have publishers dumb down box arts for the more ignorant of the casual gamers.

Should they include a link on the back to each of the awards or something? lol. Anyway, glad it's getting some commercials. The more hunter scum there is for me to devour in the game the better.

I don't think they specified that they were e3 awards. It's not a lie but it's misleading. They should lift the embargo and pick some actual review scores to brag about.

But I agree it's good it's going to get a big campaign because this is in danger of being forgotten.

The game is not even out yet and has had no marketing push for release and is in danger of being forgotten... right.

I have never seen them advertise without saying E3 awards. Even if they only say awards, I go back to my original point. Don't dumb it down for everyone because you're worried Johnny Jones doesn't know much about gaming and might be offended. I think he can take care of himself.

Titanfall advertised it's awards a lot as well before it came out.

Who said I'm worried about Johnny Jones? All I said is it makes me laugh and i don't agree with it and people are up in arms. Very strange reply.

The game is in danger of releasing and nobody knowing about it accept for the hardcore gamer. This advertising push is much needed and welcomed for the title especially when it looks like a barrage of hate could be on the way for its over milking of dlc.

You said it's false advertising and people can be mislead. If youre not worried about those people than who cares? The onus is on the consumer. If I go to buy a Bluray and "Mike Smith of the Random Small Town Newspaper" gave it a 9 out of 10, I'mnot going to take it at its word. Games do this all the time. Even Dying Light this week will say 30 awards or something on it. Nothing wrong with them advertising awards the game has received. The awards are E3 awards from people playing the same game well be enjoying in a couple of weeks :)

An advertising push is great for any game.

Not really. What's the problem with winning awards for that? If people aren't willing to check what the awards were for then that's their own fault.

Why should the onus be on the advertiser?

When there are food adverts for a 'new improved recipe' they don't have to prove that it is actually an improvement. That is up to the people to determine themselves.

It's called false advertising.  Pretty simple.
