Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

lol, I figured something like this would occur.

Sakurai is a pretty cool guy. Maybe in 20 years he will have given gaming a fraction of the gifts Miyamoto has bestowed upon the medium.

That may sound dismissive but it is true of almost every designer in the industry. Miyamoto is untouched, his victory is a foregone conclusion. Any other result is a sham.

This is the passage of fate.

Yep, I'm only upvoting Yokoi because he was responsible for Nintendo's handheld domination, thus effectively saving the company during the dark times that were to come. Plus without handhelds, no pokémon. Pokémon gen 1 and 2 were my childhood.

I bet you guys were thinking I did it because of Metroid. Well, nope. :p

Yokoi is the only acceptable alternative to Miyamoto. However, the two had completely different jobs and Yokoi, a hardware designer, is a bit out of place in the OP.

It's more appropriate to give recognition to both Miyamoto and Yokoi. They will probably be the last two remaining, although Kamiya seems curiously popular (not that I have a problem with that).
