Your thread title and the question posed in the body of your post are quite different. In answer to your title: I have faith in Wii U sales because they have continued to increase YoY - I'm one of the few who think it will actually do even better next year. In reply to yourpost itself: what exactly do you mean by comeback? Do I think it's going to beat out the Xbox One and Ps4 in units? No. Do I think it's going to match GCN sales? Maybe. Do I think it's going to turn a profit? Definitely! Do I think Nintendo will end up makeing more money this gen than Microsoft (Xbox Division)? Yes. Sony? Maybe.

This.

Since Smashes release I think I've only seen one post where the individual still thought sales could explode. I think most just believe that sales will grow in 2015 due to all the games, but not make a "comeback''.

Yeah if it's an alternate version of the trilogy where Agent Johnson ends up winning

The One and Only

VizionEck.com

I think it'll do better than the GameCube, and that isn't too bold.

Strawman thread.

why is it still open? i think this same user has made about three different threads of precisely the same sort... which seems excessive and unnecessary.

They're not against the rules. Not yet, at any rate.

What is a strawman thread? I don't understand the term.

Let's use a political example: someone makes an op-ed saying "why are democrats in favor of killing grandma?" and launch into a tirade about how the government can decide to "pull the plug" if you become too much of a liability... except no-one on that side is actually making that argument. You have constructed a strawman: a fake target that you can attack.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I doubt it will sell more than 15m but that doesn't matter because I love my Wii U, it has the best games I've played this gen, and I love the gamepad because I can use it like a handheld(i saved $200 because I was going to buy one)

The Wii U is an amazing console, but it's sales are irrelevant to the quality games.

Why do any of you Nintendo fans still have faith that the Wii U will make comeback? Why? It's been given every single opportunity to shine in 2014 from Mario Kart 8 to Super smash Bros to the highly acclaimed Bayonetta. There is practically no hope left for the Wii U. Sure Zelda may be coming, sure Star fox is on the way and sure their are other secondary first-party games coming but at the end of the day, this is the end of the road for the Wii U. With nothing better to offer and a new Nintendo console already in the works the Wii U will be lucky to hit 15 million.

With this thread I am not stating that the Wii U is a horrible console. Infact the Wii U is amazing and has amazing first party games but unfortunately as it stands the Wii U is definitely not making a comeback and nothing done will help increase its sales.

Edit: Short version. Will it manage to reach Ps3 or X360 numbers. The Wii U when  launches were allighned was actually doing better than both of these consoles.

I don't see anyone still boasting here that the Wii U will make a comeback. What I am still happy about Nintendo is their commitment to continue making products and games to the 9 Million people who bought a not-so popular console and not just make a different one all together (like Sega did). They want to make sure whoever bought a $300-350 console is satified with their investment, and I praise them for that.

If you want to know why few Ninty fans have a crack of light of hope that the Wii U can make a comeback, it's because historically the OG Nintendo DS and the 3DS sold horribly as well initially, only to pick it up the slack later in their respected life cycles. Granted Handhelds are different from consoles, so a Wii U comeback is highly unlikely (Do I believe there's a chance? a 10% chance. Do I think it will happen? HELL NO)!

Also, some Ninty fans still have hope because sales of the Wii U have been increasing yearly (albeit by very little), and see that this years lineup of Games is actually better than last years. And also the Wii U is still technically ahead in sales of the PS3 and X360 from last generations. But it's safe to say the Wii U won't sell 83 Million worldwide at the end of this Generation (considering the fact the 7th generation was effing 7-8 YEARS LONG since X360 launched 2005 and the Wii U launched in 2012. We are barely starting the 3rd-4th year of this generation). I say it has a shot of selling 17-20million worldwide. Nintendo looks like it's closer everyday in making a new console, so they'll probably kick start the next generation prematurely (2016 is my educated guess).

P.S. I still don't understand what you mean by "No Hope" if people are still buying the Wii U, Nintendo is making a good profit off it (better than every X1 sold), an AWESOME lineup of games is due this year, and Nintendo is being smart in not discontinuing it and not writing it off as a giant loss.

What do you mean by "comeback"? I expect it to sell about 25m lifetime, but I wouldn't consider that a comeback necessarily..

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

Because faith moves Mountains.

People need something to hold on, it's like when we used to have faith that Last Guardian would be released, some people still have it, the same for Wii U comeback.
