Or not because this includes anything you get digitally, not just full retail games. The only retail game I got digitally was Pikmin 3, and that was because of the Mario Kart 8 deal. The promotion has had no impact on my purchase decisions yet I still got benefits out of it, hence free bonus!

Well its a free $5 eshop credit for every 500 points. In 2014 I got a total of 2100 points, so I got a "free $20 eshop credit" to spend on whatever eshop games I want. IIRC I bought Earthbound and Super punch out!! using that credit..

I registered Mario Kart and got a free download game which basically gave me another 5 bucks for free I could spent on something that would for example cost 5 bucks then I got 50 cents for free again. etc etc.
