Forums - Nintendo - New Nintendo 3DS warranty

I saw a few users say that the 3DS in europe doesn't come with a power cord.  My question is, how does that work with the warranty.  Does that mean that people can buy a 3DS and then when the battery drains they can call Nintendo and tell them their 3DS doesn't turn on and send it in for 'repair'?

I'm sure they'll put some disclaimer saying "warranty does not cover battery life" ...

Expendable parts, such as batteries, are not covered by warranty. Ever.

Except charger's aren't exactly what you'd call "expendable" ...

Where did I do that?

Apart from all, it's clearly stated on the box (at least that's how it is in Japan) that a charger is not included. I know it sucks (because I want a charger with every device I get), but the OP's question just isn't legitimate.

You said I called chargers expendable. (Yeah, I know with "you" you don't mean me, but technically you said you. :P)

But I called the battery an expendable (or wearing) part. If you manage to wear out your battery let's say in 6 months, it will not be covered by the warranty, even if the warranty lasts 1 or 2 years. So, any problem (except an outright defect) with the battery will not be covered by the warranty. Basically the same thing you said in your first post. (I quote: "I'm sure they'll put some disclaimer saying "warranty does not cover battery life" ... ")

I'm always making fun of Americans (not really...), but I'm sure there won't be big problems with this.

Unfortunately in Japan this is already very widespread. The last cell phones my wife and I bought all didn't come with chargers, those had to be bought separately. Our 3DS LLs also came without chargers.
