Forums - Nintendo - Splatoon new screens and details - May release, loads of customisation, own Mii Plaza, central hub

It's a poor interpretation. I'm not pretending anything. Why would I know what rules can be changed? Maybe an option to turn off stat boosts on clothes. Maybe an option to switch from lives to stocks like in Smash. We barely know anything about this mode. The translator knows what was being asked. No amount of "lost in translation" is going to change an answer talking about rules and customization options to and answer talking about extra online modes. You're reaching for straws that aren't there.

Extra online have been dodged in every question where it's been asked, including this.

Guess I'll say it again. Remember when we knew nothing about Mario Kart 8's other modes among many other details until a month before release via Direct? Yes? Then calm your self! Makes more sense to wait for the inevitable Splatoon direct than trying to cause mass paranoia.

That's different. Mario Kart 8 is part of an established franchise with a precident for those modes. Splatoon is an entirely new franchise where they are deliberately avoiding confirming the existance of other modes.

This game will be iconic. A staple in Nintendo's franchises. People will remember the Wii U as the console where Zelda was open world, Bayonetta was exclusive, Xenoblade was the most massive RPG of the gen and Splatoon launched for the first time. Kind of like how people remember GCN for games like Pikmin.

I absolutely adore everything about this game. Its art style, its music, its charm and online/single player modes. I will play this game so much during the summer.

Xeno blade will not be the most massive rpg or this Gen I think. But I think splatoon has a chance of being iconic

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

Not really as Mario Kart has a bad habbit of dropping features n modes, and regardless it shows that they don't reveal everything right away. I can also see why they wouldn't want to show the typical shooter modes yet in oder to not give people the impression that it's just another generic shooter. Now with 4 months until release there's obviously gonna be atleast one more batch of info about the game, most likely in the form of a game specific direct which they've been doing a lot lately for Wii U games. With the core gameplay down, online and singleplayer already confirmed, along with character n weapon customizations, the only things they could really show off now are the local multiplayer, more arenas, more customizations, and of course, more modes, so again, let's just wait until then.

This and Devil's Third might put Nintendo on top in the 3rd Person shooter genre this generation!

a dying genre tbh, nintendo seems to be good at either snapping up the best examples (devil's third for tps, bayonetta 2 for character action) or creating them out of thin air (splatoon).

with level creation games like project spark and littlebigplanet 3 largely being ignored critically, if not taken to task, mario maker also stands to be the definitive level-creation title of this generation.

The hub is just miiverse avatars with a single message chosen by their player. You cant talk to people but im sure you can contact them via a mail system maybe.

I just hope people dont think it is a full fledged online hub.

What I'm hoping for is a way to communicate with people who might not be able to talk your language. Requests for help or for reinforcement can be issued from the gamepad and other players will be able to see it in their own language. MK8's lobby had something like it.

Voice communication would be best but for people who speak a different language, commands on the gamepad would be pretty cool.
