Maybe THQ is just hopeful that the PS3 becomes the new PS2 since their games havn't really sold well on Wii (and good cause they havn't really released a good one either)

I didn't understand at all that he said that Wii sales were going to start flopping soon.
My understanding is that he's saying that he believes that at a lower price point sales of Xbox360 and PS3 could start picking up steam and we would end up having 3 healthy consoles....( I think the guy believes Xbox360 + PS3 will stay above Wii which is possible..)
As for all the people saying if PS3 and Xbox360 drop their price Wii will too, it's not gonna do a thing.
All that a Wii price drop would do at this point is increase the waiting line for one at your local Best Buy or Wall Mart.
Wii sales are capped by how many Nintendo can produce, not by how much they cost....And that's the only reproach you can do to Nintendo at this point. They probably could be at 50 millions Wii sold worldwide at the end of 2008 if they only bothered to produce more Wii...........( makes you start wondering if Nintendo is not actually Ok with their sales and aren't trying to spread Wii sales over several years instead of having a kick ass 2008 year, because seriously, still having stock issues over 1 year after when they originally started sucks a$$).
I mean it's a Wii, not a rocket....

( Demand > Supply ) > ( Supply = Demand ) > ( Supply > Demand )
Wii
360 & PS3
what i dont get is how people can take into acct possible price drops for the other guys as booster rockets for sales ....but not for teh wii....i mean is a price cut on the wii not gong to boost its sales???

So selling 20 million Wii when you could sell 30 millions is a good thing ?
Price cuts on sold out items rarely boost their sales, they still stay sold out :P

As opposed to the reverse of that? Of course it's a good thing.

It would be a good thing if the price was to adapt to the demand but it's fixed so Nintendo isn't maximising their profit....
I mean in a capitalistic economy price is supposed to set up at a level where supply = demand. That's how the stockmarket works at least...
Wii may be selling but it will eventually become a nintendo only console. We, the wii owners get AAA titles from nintendo...a few AA ports from PS2 and B- games form Sega. lol
Plus I can't imagine most Wii games being preticularly fun to make for developers. As a developer you want to make a kickass game, something to be proud of to your friends...like COD4 of Final Fantasy ripoff atleast...not Carnival Games... and that seems to be whats selling on the system.
Also, anyone saying THQ is not a great publisher is retarded. I'd have them over EA any day as they still chose to make an interesting game every now and then... Still waiting for Red Faction 3...
I can't believe we're still having this conversation in March 2008. Wii has proven itself again and again in all three territories. It outsold the other two wordwide and will soon surpass the 360 to become the highest-selling console in North America. I think these developers are just trying to talk up the other consoles in an attempt to ameliorate their losses from development.
