Indirectly, yes I believe it is. Sony isn't shipping any more 80gb ps3s until the MGS4 bundle arrives, and since the 80gb ps3s accounted for around 60% of sales in NA, then yes, sales will be hurting a bit.
Possibly, but I think the residual positive buzz from the Blu-Ray victory as well as some new games between now and then like GT: Prologue will prevent it from becoming too drastic.

It is hurting weekly sales, yes.
Was it a good move announcing MGS4 bundle? Yeah, pretty much. But giving price, content and even picture of it gives time for MGS fans to just wait and have it "their way".
Still, it's a matter of time and Sony, in some way, will use this. MGS4 bundle release- massive hardware boom coming from all those waiting fans + the ones we already have in the current user base.
Getting such a big game for free with a PS3 that has BC is worth waiting 3 months for. In the end it doesn't hurt much since they will get those sales then.

easy 95% of potential buyers have no clue that it even exists, consumers are morons i have learned that working in retail.
Its also the calm before the storm, expect sales to drop a bit before huge hits like MGS FF GT GTA.
YES it was VERY Foolish of SONY..
SAME with Japan, they announced the Silver Ps3 + Yakuza 3 bundle a MONTH before it was due thats why sales are so low now..
in USA this bundle announcement WILL result in low sales n maybe some GTA IV adopters will hold back till June 12th..
im expecting a slight dip in sales,But A huge spike when the mgs bundle comes out...and i expect sales to pick up all around from what they are now...
