After merging with MMO-expert Blizzard Entertainment last year, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said his company would eventually consider an MMO version of Call of Duty, in addition to a Guitar Hero expansion with "multiple instruments," a la Rock Band.
The CEO was merely thinking out loud when speaking to investors on Wednesday at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference in Dana Point, California (via GameSpot), but an MMO expansion of Call of Duty 4 makes sense, something Kotick called a "natural evolution."
Regarding his "multiple instruments" comment when speaking of Guitar Hero, Activision filed with the U.S. Trademark Office in February to secure the naming rights of "DJ Hero," which legal documents describe as an "interactive video game comprised of a CD or DVD sold as a unit with a video game controller."
What's more, increasing pressure from EA's Rock Band (read: Guitar Hero plus drums and vox) suggests that Activision will likely add drums and vocals to their recognizable rhythm game in an effort to stay competitive.
