This what i meant by not being straight to the point. What's in my mind is not the question here, why should it? I was asking how a person who likes video games doesn't know who Ratchet is. What made it so?

Ratchet's games are fun enough, but I don't actually like Ratched as a character. Come to think of it, I could say the same thing about Fox and his games. They both suck. Samus ftw.

You said you weren't surprised that I didn't know, hence by your own admission that I don't like games. Do you think that's true?

No correlation between the 2 actually. I think someone who games, certainly one that even attends video game forums, knows who Ratchet is. Hence the question.

I was using satire to illustrate a point. I don't believe that Clank is a recognizable video game icon in general. It would be like asking what's a better bird, the Chocobo or Kazooie.

Hmm Ratchet may not be as well known as Lara Croft or something like that, but he's certainly more popular than Fox. But since you were just joking, don't know how i missed it, continue on i say..

Well to be completely transparent I actually had a brain fart and was thinking Clank. I guess it still applies to ratchet but he's much more visible on game covers. Still I don't think he's super known in general as a gaming icon.

Star Fox is old though.

No matter, it happens to the best of us. Here's hoping for more of both games in the near future.

Erm, no. Fox might not be the most recognizable character ever, but he has at least some presence in the not gamer world, where Ratchet is unknown at best.
