Forums - Sales - 2 WiiU launch games from sold better in 2014 than they did in 2013

...according to tracking by VGC. And they are...

Mass Effect 3 : Special Edition

FIFA 13

Explain it any way you wish. Here's how I see it: No FIFA 14 or 15 on WiiU helps FIFA 13 leg out (if you can call it that). ME3 WiiU is the cheapest version you can buy new rather than used (you can often find it for $10-15). Desperately bored WiiU owners go for it since its a decently lengthy game with high production value and worth a playthough (regardless of what you think of EA, the games ending, etc).

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I think it helps that more people bought the console in 2014 than in 2013. Also, I find it interesting that some games that launched in 2013 had better sales in 2014, like The Wonderful 101.

And you guys said that third party games don't sell on WiiU :P

That's actually really interesting . It may be though that stores are not actually stock New third party Wii U games. In my local game store I can easily find Fifa 13 and Mass Effect 3 but I've never seen Watch dogs on sale.

You left out Wonderful101

ME3 is a good game. Deserved.

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Well, Fifa 13 was still in the Wii U Top 20 a few weeks ago in the UK and outsold Watch_Dogs on Wii U. It also got a new print in Germany (Software Pyramide).

ME3 is very cheap to get, usually less than 10€.

Not really surprising really. Both games have been pretty cheap for quite some time now. Be Interesting to see how they sell this year. I wonder if Zombiu can manage to get to a million at some point?

Take me for instance, I bought a Wii U a few months ago and this was my plan:

Buy the cheapest games I could find, 1 at a time. And pick up whatever first party title when/if it was on sale.
By doing this I've built up a large library of games for very cheap and both Mass Effect and Fifa were amongst them :)

I wonder how many digital copies of zombiu sold cos it was £7.99 on e-shop for awhile
