Man, keep cool and relax. If you don't accept the fact that PS4 wins this generation you will grown white hair too soon.

PS4 is going to win the generation without breaking a SWEAT. No one is saying otherwise. Certainly not me. But I think, much like the SNES/Genesis era and last generation, the Xbox One is going to win the US. Sale just came in and Xbone won the US... AGAIN. That means that the PS4 hasn't won a single week since October.

I really don't understand why people think things are just magically going to shift back again. I haven't seen anything in the way of opinion to convince me that it's going to happen. Meanwhile, the 'Bone keeps winning the US each and every week. lol

Lol at trusting those number. Ps4 won, I flipped a coin and it confirmed it.

There's nothing magical or opinion about it. When PS4 and Xb one are the same price PS4 sells better, in the USA, 2014 showed this from the week that Xb one dumped kinect and went to $399. W/E 10 Jan is an anomaly which suggests more that VGC made an error in its calculations. So what is magical and fantasy is that Xb one would win the 10 January week after a $50 price hike. And the pattern on Amazon since the price re-drop further reinforces that VGC has most likely mis-read the tea leaves. Furthermore the major retailers all showed PS4 ahead on their best seller charts for the week, so the evidence is not just coming from Amazon. And for the past couple of week the major retailers have mostly been breaking for PS4 on their best seller lists.

The laws of economics and the market is very predictable. When price does up, demand goes down, and when demand is already going down (because it's post holidays) demand really goes down. It is completely irrational for Xb one to have a lower % drop than PS4 in that week because it's the opposite of how markets react and it is against the laws of economics.

So it seems you are ignoring objective evidence that says PS4 can certainly return to the top, even in the face of a $50 cheaper Xb one.

People don't think the PS4 will "magically" win in the US again. If you really believe that the X1 won on the week where its price went from $349 to $399, then you're being completely illogical. Never take VGC's numbers for granted, especially when it overtracked the X1 in the US last January by 100K units.

Looking at how the PS4 has been performing in multiple retailers, it has been outselling the X1 in most of them before and after the price cut. If you look at Target and Best Buy, two PS4 SKUs are being sold as opposed to just one from the X1. Amazon has been very accurate at predicting which console wins the month. The monthly rankings have the PS4 at #8 while the X1 is at #18 and this is in spite of the X1 having a $50 price advantage.

As several people pointed out, sales did not just come in. VGC numbers did. And their numbers this time last year had XO overtracked by as much as 100k, I believe. Which begs the question, are you aware of the difference between VGC numbers, and NPD numbers? VGC numbers are guesstimates. NPD are official sales numbers in the US. VGC adjust their numbers according to the NPD each month.

According to VGC's own estimates and MS' recently publiched numbers, the X1 is overtracked by at least 200K LTD.

And PS4 is undertracked by ~70k until 3rd January.

I guess you can add ~300K to the gap.
