Forums - Gaming - Highlight of 2014 - Your gaming recap

Well it's officially 2015 and 2014 is gone forever. This thread is dedicated to your gaming recap of 2014 and Highlights of 2014.

My recap:

2014 will be the year that I bought my Xbox One replacing largely my Wiiu-3DS gaming combo.

Thinking back on 2014:

First half of 2014 - Was mark mostly by playing tons of Assassin creed's on WiiU. Until March when I bought the Titanfall Bundle. Mario Kart U came out and shortly share the gaming time with TitanFall and Forza 5.  I also remember fondly the release of Game with Gold on Xbox One. Played and loved Max: the curse of the brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault. I also remember spending a few hours playing Bravely default on 3DS.

July-Sept 2014 - The major release for me was Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil edition which came out on my birthday and would consume the next two months. (All game with gold sucked expect maybe Guacamelee which I didn’t finish). D4 was a let down.

Oct 2014 - Chariot was a really good game with gold and Tomb Raider: Definitive edition. I discovered how amazing the new tomb raider was this month loved that game. Bought Bayonetta 2 but haven't played it yet.

November 2014 - This is the month of major release but instead I played the hell out of Dead Rising 3; had so much fun playing this game Co-op and unlocking all achievement. Halo MCC was a major let down, Multiplayer not working and other issues was disappointment of the month.

December 2014 - Super busy month still playing Dead Rising 3, explored the Telltales games (walking dead series and Wolf among us) and Halo MCC finally working like it should. Last week spent playing Halo campaign CO-OP; when played on legendary this game is simply mind blowing good it’s just force you to play the game smarter and beating any level is a testament of patient and perseverance that is very rewarding.

Highlights of 2014 for me:

Titanfall; Max: Curse of Brotherhood; Diablo 3 UEE; Tomb Raider: Definitive edition; Dead Rising 3 with DLC; Halo MCC & Telltales games.

What are your personal Recap and Highlight of 2014???

Around the Network

Entered 2014 with my PS4 and the resolution to buy only one game per month. So, my recap by months:
January: Continued playing FIFA and started Madden, since BF4 was a huge disappointment and the worst money I ever spent on a game.

February: Tomb Raider DE - Played it already on X360, but loved it so much I needed to replay it a couple of times.

March: Infamous Second Son - Wouldn't have bought it had there been anything else to buy. Didn't like it, boring and repetitive (and the protagonist is a bit annoying)

April: A really slow month, bought nothing, kept playing FIFA.

May: MLB The Show - The best sports simulation ever. Road to the Show kept me occupied the whole month.

June: Watch Dogs - I really liked the game, I don't understand many complaints. Huge city with lots to do, very enjoyable. Infinitely better than Infamous, at least.

July: The Last of Us Remastered - tried it on PS3, didn't like it and quit halfway through. It was a slow month so I decided to give it a second chance. Didn't like it again, but I stuck it out to the end. Enjoyed it less than Infamous.

August: TLOUR killed all enthusiasm in me, so I just pursued my baseball career again.

September: Destiny - It was a fun and exciting game, enjoyed it until I hit level 22 or so....and then it became so repetitive, it was excruciating.

October/ December: Bought The Evil Within, but got sidetracked by NFL and Madden, finished only 3 chapters, so I'm still playing it now...

November: Far Cry 4, my GOTY. Played it 45 hours to a 100% completion.

Bought a few more games this fall, to complete my 12, and those are on a backlog now: GTA V, Sleeping Dogs DE and Dragon Age Inquisition. Should fill the void during sliw months this year.

Bought a PSV in March and a PS4 in July. January- Splinter Cell Blacklist. February-DMC. March- South Park and Resistance 2(rip). April/May-Final Fantasy XHD and Luftrausers. June-Wolfenstein New Order. July-inFamous SS, NBA 2k14, and Resogun. August-The Last of Us R, Uncharted GA, and NBA 2k14. September-inFamous FL and Saints Row IV. October-Defense Grid 2, Dust ET, and Hot Shots Golf WI. November-Far Cry 4, Peggle 2, and Freedom Wars. December-Far Cry 4 and GTA V(PS4). Those were the games I played the most in those months.

2014: The year Vita became my dominant system to play, with PS3 and PS4 fighting for 2nd place.

Monster Hunter 3 WiiU is probably my most played game in 2013. I was disapointed it was so similar to the Wii version but that din't stop me from playing 100s hours.
