Greece won't have their "Christmases" for a while, yes, but it's small and therefore irrelevant. Same for the rest of the PIGS + Eastern Europe.

How am I being defensive? Why would I be defensive? What do I have to defend? I suggest you read your own OP. It doesn't make it seem like the thread's purpose is to discuss the global economy when the OP only ever mentions the US, however I pointed out that the problems here are not unique to the US.

It should be quite obvious that common problem for any national economy within the global one is the same -- the US (and EU to a lesser extent), or their debt-driven economies to be more specific, which "grow" at the expense of the rest of the world. He's discussing the source of the problem, the debt, I quote:

"Borrowed money and phony financial legerdemain (mortgage-backed securities, derivatives based on the MBS, etc. etc.) from 2000-2007 created what I have termed a "bogus prosperity": no actual new productive wealth was created, only a brief and self-liquidating bubble of debt-based housing and stock valuations."

Add shale oil to that and many, many more.

That begs the question, why everyone else needs to subsidize the US et al?

Notice that tripling of profits from 2000-2013? Yeah, stock valuations and real-estate prices aren't the only thing on the rise. The money corporations are making is as well. Now, I think it's only reasonable to say that if a company makes more money, then their stocks will be worth more as well, don't you think? And that certainly qualifies as productive wealth (the profit US companies make).

No, I'm (and author of the article) are talking about the real sector of the economy, i.e. the actual product being created. And it's being created elsewhere these days, primarly in China. It's glaringly obvious how that graph correlates with the exponential growth of the debt, don't you see? If the wealth was created, where did it go? Household incomes have nearly halved for low and middle-income households in the last decade.

I am not trust dollar anymore, i am buying gold and house investment and open a small business in near future. and try to avoid unnecessary expend. i am not going to credit a lot of money on bank anymore.

Obama reduced the gas price to sub 2$ a gallon I think he will be able to correct this in time for december 24th 2015

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I think that's not a coincidence oligarchy has appointed a black man to the presidency. It's so much easier to blame him for everything.

its interesting how people never seem to wonder about the fact that a few decades back one working person was able to support a whole household

however, now two working people struggle to do so and isn't it ironic that the emancipation of women just by chance happened to coincide so neatly?

was the emancipation of women really about the well being of women? or was it a way of keeping the system propped up for a few more decades until the finishing touches were applied elsewhere?

By priesthood do you mean the political leaders and the occult (illuminati)? Because the catholic church has lost its power in the US a long time ago.

no i'm not talking about catholic priests i'm talking about the forces responsible for inducing the appropriate beliefs in the public through a science called spiritual alchemy

the forces that people have been trained to laugh at when they are mentioned because of the science being used on them

because a true skeptic does not simply dismiss a belief because it sounds absurd... a skeptic considers any proposal no matter how outlandish and investigates it and as a result forms an informed conclusion

however, most people who claim to be skeptical are really not skeptics at all they are just as dogmatic as those that they ridicule often leading to their own downfall

alchemy has been used to convince the public that disregarding any unconventional perspective without actual investigation is true skepticism and that any one holding such a view can serve no real function in a discussion because they are bigoted or racist or misogynistic or some other nonsensical buzzward that basically means person outside of the general consensus

everything going on now depending on if you choose to consider the evidence as being viable or not was layed out by various men throughout history, for example, i posted something that albert pike stated in the 1800s in another thread

"We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view"

i posted that because it is pretty clear to me that this is what is actually happening now christianity is rapidly losing its influence while nihilism, atheism and above all strict materialism are on the rise

there are also quotes which state that it was intended that besides religious conflict, conflict between races, between sexes, etc would be seeded basically resulting in hegelian dialectics between various groups which is clearly happening with feminism being so influencial and the racial events we have been seeing recently

the united states would change from being a constitutional republic as it was founded to being a democracy which has happened and with a democracy there is a higher chance of the nation decending into a dictatorship since constitutional rights can be voted away in a democracy

nationalism would be destroyed along with the borders between countries eventually resulting in humanity becoming "mongrelised" which is also happening etc

i could go on all night with this but my point ultimately is that there is evidence that the changes occuring in society now are part of a long term plan by people who have controlled the course of society now for a while... now i'm not sure myself if i'm convinced on this myself but the evidence is there... its also very possible that i'm out of my mind and i'm being too gullible with regards to this theory but a i said everything seems to be falling into place too neatly for this to be mere chance

Last Christmas in America? Is ISIS definitely taking over then?

I'm sure even if the US economy completely fails and people start escaping to Mexico, there will still be Christmas. Heck, Jesus was dirt poor yet he still celebrated his birthday.

Of course, in Russia, due to economic crisis, they will celebrate Christmas 15 days later. It was a brilliant move in order to save on ornaments and trees, imported at half price from the West.
