All consoles are centered around casuals.
All consoles are centered around casuals.
I don't. Look at next year's Wii U lineup and tell me if they're only selling to casual gamers.

You're wording it wrong. It's not an issue of hardcore or casual. Most of Sony and Microsoft's audience are casual as well. The difference is that Nintendo's primary casual demographic comprises of children, parents, and families, while the PS4 and XBO's primary casual demographic consists of teenagers and young adults. Teenagers and young adults are the more lucrative audience because they buy more games and have the expendable income to spend more.
Can Nintendo ever gain that teenage/young adult demographic? Of course they can, but they are not making the appropriate moves to do that at all.
But they definitely are not more "casual" consoles than the PS4 or XBO. All three gain most of their revenue from casuals.

I disagree with the idea that it would be too expensive. Demon Souls wasn't an expensive game to produce, but it's definitely hardcore. Same with things like Borderlands. It's the AAA narrative driven games that are the truly expensive games to make.

Haha I would but to me Indie is an actual genre of games.

Im not sure what you are getting at...
I think people put too much emphasis on third parties now. They have been shrinking in recent years. They are also putting out less games that are often of lower quality than ever before. They also just keep releasing the same games over and over. COD, AC, GTA, sport franchises, battlefield. Half of what I mentioned are even broken to varying extents.
You can't really get much more casual than games like COD, they really are just point and click.
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

You were saying it's too expensive to compete with Sony or Microsoft. It's not.

It would. Paying for exclusive content, marketing, improve their online service etc...

Nintendo already pays for exclusive content and marketing, and their online is fine.
