I disagree I got a PS3 and literally had no games to play that I liked. I couldn't find anything and the one game I did like GTA4 didn't even work online. They've done a much better job at releasing good games consistently at the begining of the consoles life. I got my PS3 like two years after release and had nothing.

Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter has heaped praise on Sony’s efforts with the PlayStation 4, saying the format holder is in a great position to dominate the market in 2015 with several major exclusive titles.

Speaking in GameTrailers’ Bonus Round, the ubiquitous analyst commented, “Sony got its s*** together early in the cycle. That’s where Nintendo right now is suffering because they still don’t have the quantity of exclusives to drive the console. Sony has this plan, and it’s peaking early next year, and that’s exactly when you want it to be, so that’s great – it’s really impressive.”

"Normally you expect one [big exclusive] game in the spring, and then one or two more in the fall – but Sony has about six big titles," he added. "It’s probably double what we’ve seen from any of the manufacturers.”

“I’m surprised because I thought that the platform holders wouldn’t take the risk of developing for one console, and they’re taking it. [Worldwide Studios America boss Scott] Rohde’s done a phenomenal job, and [third-party relations gaffer Adam Boyes has] done a phenomenal job. It’s amazing.”

Quizzed whether or not Sony’s done enough to put itself ahead of its leading competitor, Microsoft, Patcher replied:

“I mean, unless somebody just has a brain fart and [the company] screws up, yeah, [the PS4’s] going to stay number one. It’s theirs to lose, how’s that?”

PS4 has sold 13.5 million units since its launch in November 2013. Sony managed to outsell the Xbox One for 10 consecutive months in the U.S. until last month, where Microsoft's aggressive price promotions and bundlesfacilitated an Xbox One sales spike over Thanksgiving.

What you said is so broken that I don't know where to start from :)

PS4 is the best Playstation hardware VS its competitors since Playstation brand was created. And I will back up with facts, not with the usual common ravings.  1) PSX VS Saturn and N64.  Both Saturn and N64 are more powerful than PSX, even if some people still think PSX was more powerful than Sega Saturn.

The problem with the Saturn was the complex aechitecture, and once it is fully mastered, and consiering 50% more Vram, it's more capable mostly in 2D but also in 3D games.   N64 was simply more advanced.

2) PS2 VS Dreamcast/GameCube/XBox.  PS2 less powerfull than both GC and XBox and a nightmare to develop for.  The worst hardware, only more powerful than Dreamcast.

3) PS3 VS Wii/360. 360 is the best hardware, released one year before PS3, almost as powerful as PS3, but more balanced, a lot more friendly to develop for, and a more sofisticated and powerful GPU.  Better multiplatform games for the majority.

4) PS4 VS XOne/WiiU.   PS4 by far the best hardware, more powerful, more friendly to develop for, and cheaper than the Kinect-less X1 to be produced, and better multiplatform games.

PS4 too has free on-line, not only PS3.    Software : PS4 first 2 years >> PS3 first 2 years.  PS4 OS >>>>> PS3 OS. PS4 controller, the best controller I have ever had, and way better than PS3 controller.  

Now you are wondering why both PS4 and X1 are less powerful than PS3 and 360 compered to their respective generation ?  Power consuption, heathing problems, costs, these are the 3 main factors why you will never see anymore a 360 like console, comparing in tech with the most powerful PC, it will never happen anymore for the 3 reasons I already gave you.

Sony is pricing their console better than the competition = not broken either

Sony has bad hardware (excluding RAM) for todays standards (just look at the APU) = not broken
(everyone else having worse hardware does not make Sony suddenly have good hardware at all)
(even the US government bought a gazillion PS3s because of the power)

MS fucked up really bad and Microsoft did even worse than Sony hardware-wise  = not broken.

ergonomically YES the DS4 is the best controller Sony ever made. But I never doubted that because I never talked about controllers at all. But quality wise its shit. Broken analog sticks, broken triggers etc. some touch pads fail.

Sony was just lucky everyone else fucked up compared to Sony. You cant go give them a Nobel Prize for technology just because everyone is worse than them.

1) What free online has to do with PS+ ?? Both PS3 and PS4 have free on-line, not only PS3 as you said = broken statement by you.

PS+ is a PLUS for both PS3 and PS4.

2) What power/processing power considering the respective generation has to do with the success/selling numbers of a Console ? = broken logic.

Then, Sony conceived PS4 to have a successful Generation, getting its s..t together = Best hardware of the generation/more powerful than X1 and WiiU, very balanced and efficient Architecture,  friendly to develop for, Great OS and features/very competitive price at Launch/making profit on the hardware in their first year/better PR/better ADs, not giving MS the head start this time/Indie Support/Great Deals with Developers/Publisher(Look at Destiny), etc.

Maybe Sony were not expecting a so huge success, but sure they worked a lot to make a Great Console and to make it the best place to play games. Their Goal.

PS4 is all in all the best hardware of all Playstation for the reasons I already explained, ,and better than PS3!  The most powerful console of its generation, more friendly to develop for than X1, and cost less to be produced, and Sony are already making profit with the hardware. Of course it's not as powerful as PS360 vs generation because it is NOT POSSIBLE anymore bacause of cost and heathing problems.  You said PS4 is worse than the previous PS3 in terms of hardware, and this statement is broken.  PS3 was too expensive, a nightmate to develop for, unbalanced hardware, weak and row GPU, not enough Ram available for Graphics, and released 1 full year after 360 in NA/Jap; PS4 is the perfect solution for the current economy and considering what its competitors have to offer.  More powerful than all, friendly to develop for, Sony making already a profit on the hardware, by far better OS than PS3, better controller than PS3, and a great solution with the UMA 8GB of GDDR5. The beauty of a piece of hardware is not only the raw processing power and teraflops, BUT THE WHOLE ARCHITECTURE, and in any case must be considered in relation to the generation/year--> in 2005/2006 it was possible to put into a console so much processing power, comparable to the best PC; nowdays it's not possible anymore, and 'you' can't blame Sony or MS. The Era of '360 like' Hardware(2005) is OVER !
