Goty for me. I play a lot of racing games (It has consistently been my favorite genre since I started gaming) and this one is definitely the best since PGR and the original Burnouts for track design and balance of speed vs danger. Actually Driveclub beats those in the track department, as well as the handling.

Challenge mode is a great addition, too bad it didn't work at launch. Creating and beating challenges is very addictive, thanks to the instant restarts, and very quick loading overall. Since challenge mode and now weather I have all but forgotten about FC4, GTA5, DA:I, no time. I'm racing 3, 4 hours a day, currently #113 on the global leader board.

Last night I created a bunch of hard to beat Scotland challenges. Those tracks were made for rain, looks absolutely stunning. Working a Venom GT through the 2 very fast point to point races on a wet road requires full attention. I can still barely beat the pack at semi-pro level in those conditions.

The people who voted no probably did not play it... it's the game I playe the most since I got it about 1 week after launch!

Yeah, right.
How about releasing a complete and working game?
I'm buying a game to play it at release, not months after.
Driveclubs release was an insult to everyone who purchased it.
No excuses for that. They really deserve it.

Thanks Captain Obvious. That's exactly what the poll is asking.

It certainly is underrated as it is now, but many of the launch reviews were fair when they were published.

Driveclub is a fantastic arcade-racer which had a terrible launch and got punished for it in reviews and general perception.

Actually, the online portion of the game worked fine when most critics were playing it. It got punished for other reasons.

The PS4 is a lacking notable racing games so people will buy Driveclub. But maybe an Arcade racer wasn't a good idea.

Dude...you know GT is coming. The last GT came out right before the PS4 came out. Give it time. Drive Club isnt the definitive racer.

Yep I've played Drive Club and it's a great racing game. I'd give it a solid 8/10. (Didn't buy it until the online problems were fixed.... not that I've played anything apart from single player yet though.)

So a game with a decent metascore is underrated. Okay.

Funny thing is the reviews I've seen mostly complain about the AI, driver penalties, and rubberbanding.

I think quite a lot of people still like the track racers.  I know that nowadays there seems to be a trend for "open world" pretty much everything but for me, especially on the other PS systems the one game I looked out for on release was.....Ridge Racer.  To this day I think for OTT arcade racing, these still sit top of the pile (apart from the god awful Unbounded last gen).

I think Driveclub, now its all fully up and running, "kinda" fills the gap left by no RR on PS4.

I'm not saying Driveclub should have been an open world game. However, that might have been a good move considering Sony already has a track racer.

Here's the thing, Driveclub wanted to fall between arcade racer and sim. But its not a particularly fun arcade racer and it lacks the depth people want from racers today. NFS and The Crew do a much better job and filling the arcade racer gap.

Personally I think the best direction for Driveclub would have been open world and feel more like a sim racer. Hence, I'm saying Sony should have made their own Forza Horizon.

Lol you clearly did not play Driveclub, not that I didn't already doubt it, but now you proved it. Driveclub worse than NFS and The Crew? Maybe you should not come on a PS-exclusive related topic when you have no idea how it plays.

The metascore is average for a VERY good racing game. There are problems with AI, but that and the other few problems have no weight against its positive qualities. It deserves an 85+ easily.
