IIRC, I was stuck there for about 2 days. There's just a stupid, not-so visible door that you enter and then you can face a boss and get the hell outa there.

 DAMNIT, Now I am again tempted to play that game all over again. Are you talking about the part with you see a monster inside a jailcell but you can't get to him? Yeah, I was stuck there forever and just eventually gave up.
