Forums - Gaming - Microsoft not paying their Indie devs???

Boy I can't wait for some dirt on Sony, who am I kidding, anything wrong done by Sony would easily be excused or swept under the rug.

Yeah, the rootkits issue was totally swept under the rug.  You are SO right.  But, it's funny that you'd bring up Sony, when it's Microsoft not paying Devs what they're owed...from September, and we're now in December.  What a relevant thing you brought up.  Thanks for the input.

Also, totally swept under the rug.

Damn that sucks for the developers. Microsoft better pay quick, there's no excuse. Also why does Microsoft even pay only once a quarter? That's fucking shitty for indie devs! Just imagine being an indie developer and not having your money you made on Xbox from July 2014 and later...

Edit: via Neogaf, 3 more people who claim to be developers who haven't been paid their Q3 payment yet. Even one of them is considering not releasing future titles on Xbox, so it could also bite Microsoft in the ass.
OnPoint: ''Yeah, they haven't paid us either. This is becoming a real issue. Makes us question ever returning to a Microsoft release again, I can tell you that. Source

Robert at Zeboyd Games: ''We haven't gotten paid either. Unfortunately, this is nothing new for Microsoft - it feel like half the time they're late with XBLIG payments.'' Source

DSix: ''This is true, I have yet to get paid. I mailed their services, and they assured me "it would be solved in the coming weeks", but I need that money now, not in months when they finally figured how to input my fucking account numbers in their system.'' Source

It's...December 3rd, and they're waiting for payments from September.  If, as you say, these devs had done something wrong, wouldn't Microsoft have told them so?  And even still, can an employer withhold payment for work rendered like that?  I mean, they can fire you, or otherwise remove you from their employ, but withhold payment?

If you are going to be fair, is this just an isolated issue with this one dev or is this something happening with All XBLG.  Also if this is just this dev, then why the delay in payment.  We only have one side of the story and of course that sides paint thee light much better for their cause.  Without know the full story, we can only guess and pretty much probably will be wrong.  Anyway its up to MS to work with their developers but it would be interesting to know if this is just some blunder on MS or something else.

I'd love to hear anything from the past year that has had anyone up in arms about playstation.

All I know is that Sony is paying Vita owners 50$ because an advertised feature never materialized. Pretty sure everyone was happy to receive money there.

Oh, and they were hacked by a foreign terrorist third world country. C'mon Sony, at least be hacked by a first world country groups like lizard squad.

First, I didn't write it, the guy at Destructoid did.  Second, Microsoft was apparently asked for Comment, and declined.  Third, the twitter messages from two different devs show it's not just one developer.

No, no, no.  Remember?  MS has endless money that it can spend everywhere forever...

Maybe they can but it looks like they don't want to.

it's gotta be this.

Never let is be said that there is only a Sony defence force. Gotta love how people just have to bring Sony into this when there's no real context for it.

OT if this is more widespread than just 2 indies then it's bad. If it's just these 2 indies then it's unfortunate for them but not really bad form on MS. The article could have done with a bit more research and at least anonymously quote some other indie sources experiencing the same thing. Not everyone is willing to openly bite the hand that might eventually feed them, but if they can protect their identity then they might be willing to share their experience. We don't have the truth of the situation yet, but right now it's not looking good for MS's current PR narrative.
