3-4 hours implies there is something wrong with your controllers. It should never be that low. Dim the controller lights in the settings for a start as that does make a difference. But I get about 8-9 hours out of mine on a full charge with vibration on and currently loads of voices coming out the speaker too (Playing GTA).

the controller last only about 6-7 hours. i have timed my controller. thats very bad considering xbox one with batteries is more then 20 hours and similar when you add the charger pack to it.

Xbox one controller isn't really a fair comparision though is it.  Doesn't that use standard batteries?  Standard (well decent brand) AA batteries hold considerably more charge than a battery in a DS4 will, hence over double the play time.  I used to to use a pair of eneloops in my old 360 pad which were rated at 2600mah and they used to give me 25-30 hours between charges which was brilliant.  So I expect them same batteries would give similar performance in the One pad today.

Like I said before, mine give over 8 hours play, but even so, there is no denying that the battery is probably one of the lowest capacity that Sony could have found.  I'd rather they let us use our own AA if I'm honest.

if i compare using the charger kit that you can buy for the xbox one controller, then it still last longer then the ps4 controller. teh charger kit , works the same way as the ps4 controller. However it lasts close to a normal AA batteries. I rather have AAA batteries then have my game constantly interrupted because of low batteries.  It gets quite annoying as the total time is absymal

Thank god I'll never have this issue because my consoles are always within reaching distance of where I play and therefore my controllers are always plugged in. Sucks that the battery life isn't that great on the DS4 though. The DS3 felt like it lasted for weeks! That thing was insane.

I think all of you guys play too much game. I play max 4 hour or less to let my console cool off. This is why I have never need to fix or replace any of my console even once. Even machine need its rest.

Smartphone charger and two controllers. Also if u dim the light on the controller it will last longer.  Also this allows you to play plugged into the wall if need be rather than plugging it to the console itself.

Happy gaming!

Yeah to be honest 8 hours is plenty. If you are running out of juice then that implies that the person is wanting to play more than 8 hours straight. Thats not a problem of the controller, more a problem with the person playing. No one should sit in front of a screen playing games for 8 hours straight. Its just not healthy at all.

@kristianity77-- i normally play that only during my days off from work. otherwise it last at most two days playing few hours per day . However its a problem when yoru competitor charge kit on the controller can do 3 times more gaming time without having to charge every day or two. Its annoying having your gaming interrupted
