The fact that the XOne hasn´t failed against all odds is disruptive to some, it seems.

Second year will be a total different battle.

I agree cause unlike this year sony will have some of its bigger guns out title wise and they not microsoft can offer price cuts watch what happens when that comes to pass.

Remember it's a marathon not a sprint.

UK is just the biggest market in Europe. And when you couple big numbers there with US's, usually consoles show a pretty healthy global marketshare. Capisce?

They have not won even a single global week even with multiple price cuts, exclusive titles, free games, and an expansion into china its about marketplace yes and microsoft has yet to show they can accomplish such a feat, when they do come talk to me, and i will admit i was wrong but we both no that will never happen your just in denial.

Your feelings mean nothing to me. I affirmed that US and UK make up a big chunk of the market and it makes sense for MS to target them first.

You're just one of the many that jumps on any positive thread about X1, to see if you can bring it down.

Question. When they say that retailers are saying the XBO is outselling the PS4, do they mean overall? Like in they actually have figures to back that up? Or did they just ask a few retailers what's been going on at their stores?

Oh, and congrats on 1M.

There is nothing positive here its just false hope small victories among a losing global war, if multiple price cuts and free games in additon to the holiday season are what you need to be competive with sony in the one territory you should be winning, not playing from behind in (america) then its as i said a temporary repreive from getting crushed globally thats all im saying.

I think we should be grateful that we can be part of a site that makes a very concerted effort to track sales data and provide this info on a weekly basis free of charge.  That is why I have remained loyal to VGChartz for a number of years now. It is easily the best gaming site around on the internet.  On a side note,- gotta love all the positive news coming out of the Xbox camp lately!

You count your moral victories and I play my games buddy. I don't know about you but the latter makes me sleep better.

Then go have fun and play your games and i will ignore the fact your posting on a website whos entires premise is to debate numbers and data surrounding the console war.

Man this is so sad this is what passes as good news for the xbone relative to the ps4. They might win an npd in nov and or dec at best, and a few weeks in the uk which is a tiny fraction of the overall european markets total numbers. I guess whatever makes people happy enjoy these small victories cause after the holidays its just gonna go back to the way it was the first 10 months except microsoft will eventually run out of price drops and free games to artifically boost their sagging numbers.

Is there a point to this downplaying? Its pretty sad.

Yep sounds like a few people here are upset as they were expecting their console of choice to cruise over the finish line unchallened.  And given the amount of resources MS have poured into their most recent effort to reinvigerate its competitiveness in the consiole race (just beacause they can) it seems to have made some folk even more itchy...

Let me try to understand your point:

So, it doesn´t matter how good XOne/MS performe if they have to cut the price and give "free" games.

Is that it?

Then, how on earth can MS "win" under your conditions?

Should they lose money building a 4K capable hardware and spend milions on untested new IPs?

Microsoft made a racitonal decision about the Xone power and features. There´s no more than can do other than have price advantage and some few big exclusives.

Or they could accept defeat and quit the console market... would that make you happy?
