Who am i to argue with a Nintendo exec?

So Reggie is actually objectively right. |
How is he objectively correct?
Unfortunately for Nintendo, most people are going to be more likely to want to spend $330 on an X1 than $300 on a Wii U. It's just the way things are. Wii U has a stigma attached to it that it will likely never be able to shake off, at least in the eyes of the mainstream.

If the answer is NO, then WIIU DOESN'T REPRESENTS THE BEST VALUE OF ALL HOME CONSOLES AVAILABLE TODAY, even if Nintendo was selling it at 200$ with 5 games....And don't even try to talk about Bayonetta 2 because even WiiU owners don't give a shit about that game... Nintendo as a game developer is the best in the world, Nintendo WiiU as a game console is the worst value for current gen consoles BY FAR, and considering the sales, is obvious most people think the same. He should try stop being so arrogant because Nintendo best times have passed. |
Can I play Mario kart 8, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, Smash, 3D World, Wind Waker, Lego City, Zombie U, Hyrule Warriors and/or I could play in the future games like Starfox, Zelda, Splatoon, Yoshi, Xenoblade on a PS4 or X1?
See, anyone can do the same. I'm not saying Wii U is better value than PS4/X1 but is not arrogance, is his job
Well, its not like he can say otherwise. Ive once questioned myself if i can have a wiiu and not have any other console, not possible tbh. Judging from the sales of PS4/X1 it seems clear people may have decided on their console for holidays or even this gen (for now)
He's hardly going to say different.
But what's interesting, and I think reflective of Nintendo's cluelessness about the market, is that he's trying to appeal to Wii owners ("upgrade to Wii U"), who by a large majority have completely abandoned home consoles as a game playing platform. Or even abandoned video gaming all together.
What does he have to appeal to PS360 owners who are still committed to home consoles as their principle, or at least significant other gaming platform? Not much. Clearly these people are not swayed by price when it comes to Wii U, and they are not big fans of the stock Nintendo franchises.

Only if someone holds the consoles & games to equal value, then the lowest price ($300) would be the best value.
If someone values almost any 3rd party tiles, higher HD graphics, Blu-ray, 500GB storage, etc. then that boosts the value proposition of the others. I reccon the XB1 at $330 will steal some attention from some who would have just gone with Wii U due to the price offering
The ouya is better value than all three so whatever
Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
